    The provisioning changes are fantastic. I am glad to have V10 recipes. There are V5 and V1 too. I have over 150 recipes on live so I have a lot on the PTS. Just wish the food and drink would stack.

    Sorry if it wasn't clear. My VR5 Honey Brittle food turned into VR10 Potentate's Supreme Cioppino. I haven't checked recipes yet.

    I had my VR1 food turn to VR10. Worthless to my VR4 character.

    I have noticed that I have Saltrice but also have Old Saltrice. How can you have both? They both have the same graphics as well. There is no reason for some to go old and some do not.

    I spotted this, and if it stays the same I am going to make all my pepper into high level food items before update 6 hits the live server!

    Our biggest plan for ingredients in particular was to render them level-agnostic, and largely universal. This does mean we had to shake up the ingredient economy, but it also means (with ingredients no longer being associated with any particular level) that we can ensure that universal nature for most ingredients and completely eliminate "incidental" rarity.

    Whether you want to cook up all of your ingredients before the update hits Live or not is up to you - but the current state of things on PTS is indeed by intent and design.

    I can't be 100% sure, but I suspect what has happened is that all the saltrice you had has become Old saltrice, and that a different ingredient has converted to the new saltrice.

    Thank you for that confirmation - I will use all the high end ingredients I have (pepper especially, because I noticed the honey recipe that uses pepper converted into a VR10) in recipes that will convert to VR10 foods come the update going live. Everything else I will hang onto, and see what it converts to.

    Yep Pepper and Pingus need to be made into Consumate Honey Brittle before LIVE or that will be a shameful waste of matts.

    Made close to 1000 last night to put in the fridge and of course, food doesn't stack to 200 like all the matts do now. lol

    Good to know this is intentional. I will also be using all my pepper to cook purple foods before the conversion since I can use the converted purple food but the ingredient to make it (pepper) will become stale and useless.

    Adding a request: Would you do a PSA to let people know pepper is not converting to a new purple ingredient so others can plan accordingly? People still pay a lot to buy it on guild stores and it would be nice if you published a conversion article so everyone knows what will convert and what won't.

    Agreed, didn't they mention this was gong to happen a long time ago in one of the twitch vids? I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. Is this something on the road map @bel shezzar ?

    after getting some time on pts, i think the system isnt perfect but prolly the best we could hope for.

    the concern that it will be harder to get matrials due to justice system are rather minor imo after getting pts time.
    sure on the surface everything seems all messed up, but they converted all my tomaetoes to frost mirriam, which i need to make my vr5 pruple honeybrittle/cipponini
    whats confusing is that i originally never used tomaetoes for the recipe. so all the pepper i had saved up....is useless
    this is kinda bullspit , because if i hadnt saved my tomaetoes ANTICIPATING some such nonsense. id be sol for vr5 food!
    NOT COOL, luckily for me i saved tomaetoes and got lucky for my recipe
    to be fair tho, now i only need 4 mats, 2 of which are sold by the vendor.
    my honeycomb got turned into corn so that makes sense.

    Ok, so I just found out that you can copy/paste item ids from the chat window before you hit enter (go to your item, link into chat (do not press enter), highlight it in chat, ctrl c, and then ctrl v in a location of your choice)

    This enabled me to see which food item on live changed to which food item on the pts.

    I have done the purple food recipes since the conversion of them seems really borked by level (you still retain the same number of recipes you had before)

    All below are Consummate*

    *honey brittle (v5) = potentate's supreme ciopinno (v10)
    *sweetroll (v5) = the emperor's venison fricassee (v10)
    *honey pudding (v5) = hircine's meatloaf (v5)
    *fishy sticks (50/v1) = Duck Soup (v5)
    *mud crab cakes (50/v1) = Planked Abecean longfin (v1)
    *crab meat stew (50/v1) = Ultimate Riverhold Beef Tacos (v10)
    *shank-and-potato pie (45) = Salmon steak surprise (v5)
    *imperial city stew (45) = caramelized goat nibbles (45)
    *grilled frog legs (35) = nibenese fricasseed fawn (35)
    *mountain jerky (35) = Vvardenfell Cliff Racer Ragout (35)
    *Saltrice slurry (35) = Parrot-and-Pumpkin Salad (45)

    This is a very peculiar conversion considering the green and blue recipes seem to convert same level to same level foods.

    There are 21 epic recipes on live in total. Where in the green/blue recipes it seems they will let us discover/find the v10 recipes it seems that they decided to reduce the number of purple recipes by converting current recipes to v10 (and thus not adding new v10 epic recipes).

    No, actually.

    What they've done is gone in and renamed the ingredients. They didn't actually add or remove any items from the game (at a software level). They've just changed what the game tells you they're called.

    With that approach, you can't merge items together, they're still two different items. Trying to change one into the other opens the door to a lot of horrifying glitches coming out of the woodwork. So most of the current ingredients go stale, we all collect a couple grand for our trouble, and we can buy up what we need after that... except, don't save your pepper.

    I'm a Master Provisioner and V14 as well. This post relates to what I do at that level, for lower level assistance you will need to look elsewhere! As ever with my stuff - YMMV!

    I've created a spreadsheet for all the blue and purple recipes I know in 1.6 - this includes the new name; the rank and the ingredients. This spreadsheet is in Googledocs and I've made it publicly accessible. I'm a noob at googledocs so no doubt I've made mistakes - please do point them out and I'll endeavour to correct them.

    Underneath the blue/purple recipes I've included a list of ingredients that show what has happened...

    So for example:

    'New' Saltrice was 'Old' Potato
    'Old' Saltrice is not used any more and can be sold.
    The 'new' Potato was the 'old' Horker meat

    However there a couple of instances where "Old" is a misnomer as there are, I understand, some NEW ingredients that have the name Old. >:)

    Not without setting up some kind of interim system that converts an item... okay...

    Right now Jazbay Grapes are. |H1:item:34349:1:50:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0|h|h

    Now, after 1.6, 34349 is becoming Acai Berry.

    And item 28610 is becoming Jazbay grapes. (Right now it's Frog Legs.)

    Here's the thing. You can't change that number.

    Once an item is in game, you cannot pull the number from circulation. You could write a script that would go through and find every 34349 and turn it into an equal number of 28610, but the time involved in that conversion is non-trivial.

    If you flat out remove a number, it'll create a corruption in the database entry. Which is part of why you can use raw item codes to fake Auriel's Bow or the Dark Brotherhood Invitation. They were in the game at one time, and if one of those is somehow in someone's inventory, yanking it would cause all kinds of problems.

    So you can rename the records, pull a bunch off the drop tables, and call it a day. Worst case some of the old ingredients stay on the drop tables and someone gets a free 10g junk item occasionally.

    OR, you have to write a script to rifle through everyone's inventory, replace specific items with other specific items, and hope that it doesn't go off the rails someplace between where you start and the end of time, by hitting a bit of stray weird data that worked it's way in.

    At which point you could end up with widespread database corruption, have to go back, and start over.

    Granted, that's a worst case outcome, but after the bank bug at launch, I think we can safely say, this game's database is a little shaky in places.

    The least invasive way to handle this would be either through the use of a vendor to swap things out specifically, or by fundamentally altering the ingredients into a consumable that spits out the right new ingredient on the other end, which... given ESO's UI, would not be doing you a favor.
