Character Copy(NA) not copied over nothing to be done about it?!

My maxed out v14 master crafter character was not there when I logged in. I waited all day for it to be dealt with, and the response I finally got from CS was:
"We hope you are enjoying the content on the PTS so far!
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to transfer your Live characters over to the PTS. Instead, we recommend creating a template character to recreate your Live characters (but at a higher level)."
WHAT?
Did I miss somewhere where it said only a select few from the NA server was getting copied over?
Using the v14 template is NOT THE SAME thing. None of the traits are known, nothing on the map is discovered, etc...
Why can this not be fixed?! Your error. What is the problem.
OH, and the generic jerk response was real cute. My character can't get any higher nice freakin' robot copy & paste.
