Many, really many players, are using multiple heal debuffs on you and every player in your team. If you'd play PvP 24/7 you'd know that it is not just the meatbag catapult.
If you want to succeed in small-scale pvp (no bigger group stuff) you should think about shield-strategies for healing, just because everyone and their grandmas use heal-debuff. And because ZOS says: heal-debuff SHOULD stack (one of xxx.xxx error they do^^)
And since this game is nowhere near attractive for nuubs and it lost over 50-80% of its playerbase, you can assume that most guys in PvP are experienced enough to use heal-debuffs.
Purge/Puryfying Ritual + Heal takes often too long (3 players casting at you) whereas you could simply use immovable + bubble OR life-stealing skills, even so combined. With this combination you'll have no "debuff-gap" (purge/etc.) but just your shields up.
If you have assigned debuff-roles in middle- to large-scale PvP forget about this. Nonetheless don't over-rate healing! I think the most successful PvP'ers combine their shields & shield effects, life leach skills, etc. for max defense and not just pure healing. (think less about crit and dmg numbers, think more about which skills also strenghten your def.)
Given that very often you'll have more debuffs/dots on you, even 1 purge (push) will not be enough to remove all that negative effetcs&dots. While removing the heal-debuff on you/your team, you'll loose precious time for AE-healing, while healing-debuff effects are spammed on you (!) and reapplied all the time. Especially Snipe & Bow & Weapon enchants are very common and used throughout Tamriel, so try shields! Immovable gives you armor/resist on hard cap, while you can combine bone-shield/DK-shield/Alliance-shield/etc. etc. in group play and other respective shields in solo-play (f.e. healing ward), or try 1h+shield reflect with stun, which is also very nice. There are so many combinations to heal-yourself, do not rely on resto-heals + templar healing skill only, try everything out
