Help out a crappy NB:)

So I have been trying to pick out a good 5th ability for my DW bar.... my abilties are:

1. Impale
2. haste
3. aspect of fear
4. blood craze
5. sparks

ultimate: veil of blades

i pop a potion when my health gets low.

i feel as though im not putting out enough DPS, as players health bars dont seem to move at all(the bleed from blood craze must be blockable or something, it does absolutely no bleed damage when i use it) so im looking to replace it. however, im also unsure about Haste.....

i have considered using concealed strike, but when i use it it seems to constantly bug out and just not damage my enemies at all.

i need a good 5th ability.(or 4th and 5th if haste does not work) anyone have any ideas? i can get this build to work if i just find the right ability....

Cody!!! Just do what I do.. You've seen my work, I know you have. Also... Your skill bar has a DoT and an execute for damage. You can't rely on DoTs to kill any experienced player... Bleeds are absorbed by damage shields and removed by purge skills... Things that every good PVPer uses. You're simply not running a good bar IMO

bleeds are absorbed by damage shields?? i thought they slipped thru and affected the player....

well then, looks like i know what to replace:D now i know for my new DC toon i suppose.

bleeds just dont seem usefull at all, both endgame and PvP:(

well, that presents a probem for me. i dont use flurry, as people simply block the last hit, which is what does the big damage. i am stamina based, i cant use 4/5 magicka skills, it will not work for me.

hmm... guess this will take a awhile.

alright. its not a melee ability... but i know it does good damage.

the distance one is the only one worth getting... Honestly, DW isn't super great for dps... Only use rapid strikes because it's perfect for my playstyle and build. You may want to go 2hander if you want a heavy hitting Melee Stam build. I know you might be thinking... "No ninja uses a 2 handed sword" and I'll counter that with snake-eyes wields his katana in 2 hands or a regular basis lol

ambush is a great opener for NB from stealth, then soul harvest, then mass hysteria for CC and spam flying blade you can also use impale for finishing. If you have not managed to kill quick - use roll and dark cloak and evade to stealth/

A blocked blood craze does not apply any bleed at all(and of course does not heal you at all as a result).

Most Viable DW Build:
Rotation: Ambush, Soul Harvest (Or Concealed Weapon) Then do a concealed weapon or mass hysteria- flying blade spam (depends on if player is a flappy bird or not)
Finish with impale
hysteria- roll/cloak if you're in trouble

May be it's good for dueling, but in mass PvP you should kill quick or evade.

I know, my ambush soul harvest killers blade is usually more than enough to kill anyone... Unless they have whitestrakers.

You may enjoy yourself more because the build you use may more accurately befit your playstyle, but that doesn't relate to the viability of the build

Right, I've been running a NB since beta. I have come to this build through my own play, I have consulted with no one. Though it may be similar to others, my build and my playstyle are truly organic to me. I've enjoyed success because of several factors, the build only being one of them. Many have asked me specifics on my build, I always caution them, saying "My build works for me and my playstyle, it's not a one size fits all".

Utimatley, I'm saying you have to just press the flesh, you have do the time to see success. We can all post all the good skills the NB has at their disposal and what are good combinations but its all for naught. What the OP should understand that unless they spend time prefecting their build based on their playstyle, skill, and available gear that they'll be mediocre at best.

all these magicka builds yall suggested would be fine... but i have only 1.2K magicka. i have 2K stamina, meaning i rely more on stamina than magicka(yes im gimping myself, but whatever, its fun:D) if i use 4/5 magicka abilties, i will be in even worse shape.

sounds like in order to put out good damage, i will have to go 2H... but i dont have an endless amount of damage shields/instant self heals to spam, if i go 2H, i will just be outlasted(i take that back, the heal from rally is nice, but i still wont be able to keep myself up long enough to do much) i use sparks because it makes up for my lack of damage shields/ shields. without sparks i have a really hard time staying alive. i could go DW/2H, but then i would have to sacrifice my bow.... ach.. looks like i will have to make a decision:/

and can someone tell me why ZOS allowed bleeds to be blocked?? are you kidding me?? why should i even use the abilties in PvP then???heck one of the main reasons i used them was because i thought it got thru damage shields and at least SOME block.... but c'mon........ i have no reason to use any bleed abilties in PvP it seems.

iv been using this build for 3 months and still cant get it right. lol

nothing wrong with asking for help. iv also played a NB since beta. i HAD a decent build, but that was way back in the times of wabba, that build is obsolete now. so iv been trying to find something else.

remove Sparks, haste, and Blood Craze.

Use Dark Cloak defensively (like a magicka based dodge).
Conceal Weapon is nice for the movement speed and using it after a Dark Cloak is a nice debuff.
Ambush as your opener and gap closer.

Go all magicka and save your stamina for dodging and moving cloaked.
Flying blades is weak without stamina and impale is weak if you have a stamina build.

Keep Veil of blades on your secondary weapon and use Soul Harvest combined with the Ambush damage buff.

Look, if you use stamina build it does not matter that 4/5 of your abilities should be stamina based. It means only that your main spam skill should be on stamina. Look, ambush is great as it's the only stealth charge skill, it also has good stealth dmg even with stamina build and grants you 36% dmg bonus for next attack. So when you use soul harvest next it will have that dmg bonus and grants its own 20% dmg bonus for 6 sec. If enemy was not blocking when you charge he is allready almost dead. Then you use mass hysteria to make him run and start to spam flying blade with all your stamina bonuses and soul harvest buff. Really you used only 2 magika abilities and you have you magika pool at least half full. And you'll need it only if you have to evade using dark cloak or mass hysteria or both.
As for impale on your bar as a finisher it's cheap and good even with stamina build and it also grants you 3% crit bonus (as for me i like to use radiant maglight in PvP instead).

Quoted for truth.... even doing a spinoff of Arax's build a couple months ago in great gear wasn't how I got successful, had to make a completely different build that actually fit my playstyle and practice at it for a while to get good at it

hmm... what about siphoning strikes?

say i replace haste and blood craze. one with an actual damaging ability, the other with siphoning strikes to regan some resources?

tryin to make a build i can straight up fight people with.

I had a lot more success today with this new build i am trying. i killed a few people, and had a good chance against some people with a shield before their teammates came and ruined the fight. With strategic usage of siphoning strikes, rapid strikes, Fear, sparks, and a potion every now and then, iv managed to have some pretty good fights.

now, i just need leeching strikes.

can't wait to mass test this tommorow

Im not at that stage yet. lol.

I still have to get leeching strikes and test it out before my new build is complete. Im trying to make a NB DW build that does not rely so much on magicka. If i can learn how to use siphoning strikes right, along with a pot every now and then, i may end up doing so.

This works well against everyone but 1H and S DKs; they just burn me down with perma block talons spam. I roll out, they instantly re-talons me. The physical damage on impact and the DoT it uses takes its toll on me. Will have to figure out a way to deal with that.

I suppose the BE users also present a prolem, but i dont chase them across the map anyway, so im not too concerned about them. Maybe the 2H ones...

Use restoration staff as a secondary weapon. Hit him with quick siphon. Its cheap and lasts a long time. Now hitting him heals you. Rapid strikes rapidly drain his stamina from blocking, and give you lots of healing from the siphon. Just don't do this if he has razor armor up, of you'll kill yourself on it.

Need to max spell damage asap. Soft cap it.

Tough fights - Group of 3, sneak behind healer/archer/mage and pop veiled strike, then impale. 1 down.

pop dark cloak

get behind #2, veiled strike, flying blade, impale

Option 2 for groups of 4+
hold block, spam sap essense pop bat swarm and whirling blades

#1 game changer for me was when I max'd out my spell damage.
