Well, pets are great for solo content imo. I've solo'd a lot of Lower Crag vet 10+ delves with both my pets and Atronach - switched to that build if something was really kicking my fragile...self otherwisehi, just made a sorc, really like the summoning pets, and I do know that they are not the best, but still, I like them, and I understand that it might not be the best to use both at the same time, but I would if I could lol, so atm I use the clanfear for solo stuff, and winged for group stuff, but Im having problems finding a good build, I mostly do solo content, lvling, gathering etc, and I like the ranged weapon the most, plus I suck at melee haha, so to the experienced sorcs out there, how would you make a pet build with ranged weapons? and like I said before, I would love to use both pets, but if its not possible to make a decent build with that, Im fine with one at the time.
thanks for the reply:)
sounds a bit like what I have been looking at, what about the second skillbar/weapon?
and do you find that you are low on magica all the time, after all, its -20% magica with both pets, or isnt the magica pool any problem?
Do heals and buffs affect the pets? Like regeneration from the Resto staff, combat prayer, Circle of protection, etc?
Will they do much damage on their own or do they mainly serve as a distraction while you defeat things?

Heals and buffs do affect your pets(which is another reason why they're bad in groups - no one wants their Regeneration to go to Clannfear).
Their own damage is pretty tiny, you'd be wise to not rely on it normally, but what I personally did if I got overwhelmed by a particularly OP boss in Craglorn was slooooooowly kill him using JUST pets' damage. I had 0 offensive skills on my bar, only pets, Healing springs, Hardened Ward and Inner Light. I shielded, healed and occasionally resummoned my pets as needed until the bosses died. It was by no means fast but wow, was it efficient in the end.

Sadly that isn't true anymore. Regeneration got broke in 1.5 and no longer heals pets.
I'd say that targeted heals should have a player>pet priority, but still heal pets if there're no players around. Since the main use of pets is soloing content, and yes, they do need(and deserve!) heals then.AlexDougherty wrote: »Nightreaver wrote: ».Do heals and buffs affect the pets? Sounds more like a fix to me, I like my sorceror's summons, but Heals should only affect players (maybe NPC Companions for missions).

So sounds like either a bug or more of Zeni-style "fix delicate things with a hammer" thingie.
I think it was intended as a fix but ended up breaking more than it fixed, a familiar theme.AlexDougherty wrote: »Sounds more like a fix to me, I like my sorceror's summons, but Heals should only affect players (maybe NPC Companions for missions).

You're a Sorcerer, @lord_dal. Summon the raw daedric energies straight from Coldharbor, not a little ball of fluff that goes in a tiny pink purse.
