Dual Wield Templar Trials Build

I was curious to know if there is a viable DW Templar trials build out there. My wife heals but would like to go back to her medium/DW when she is dps. I have only been able to find one post about DW:

http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/dual-wield-dps-wip-clip-it-like-one-of-your-french-girls/

Just curious if anyone else out there follows this similar build or have a better one to use.

Thanks!!

My first character is a VR11 DW, Khajiit, Templar in medium armor. A hybrid dps/heal build, slightly more invested in stamina.

It is never going to be on-par with a dress wearing, staff holding sorc, when it comes to DPS. But, it can be a fun build to play.

I just started playing a templar and I love this class. I haven't played it as a vet so I don't know how it will be then.

You might hate it if you try to DPS with it. It can DPS, but you'll be discriminated against for not healing and you'll have to work harder than the other classes to pull off useful numbers. If you're a tank, you'll be working hard for aggro but staying alive will be a joke.

As a healer you'll laugh off the job as it's also dumb easy. Templar Healers = Best Healers in ESO.

I say all of this as a Stamina Based DPS Templar with a 2H and Bow, because in my mind I wanted to play as a Vagrant Knight Of The Divines, which Templar falls pretty well in line with.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

I'm playing it as a High Elf using destruction staff and my back-up is 2H. I'm almost maxed out on magicka and love to use everything on Aedric Spear skill tree. Right now I can easily take on mobs of three but once I hit vet I know it will be harder.

Once you hit Vet you'll notice everything I said and how much better other classes do than you. Don't be too disheartened or discouraged though, the fact that you worked harder for everything just means you're better than everybody else.

Anything is possible in this game. For trials if you want to dual wield as a templar this is probably going to have to be your AoE skill bar but it's doable. Equip Blood craze for it's lovely DoT and heal, Blazing Spear for the Burning Light proc and Steel Tornado as an AoE execute. Keep Blazing Shield on your bar for some emergency defence and your last slot as a utility/changeable skill. This could be used for Radiant Aura (amazing stamina regeneration), expert hunter, power of the light etc depending on what you're doing. This should balance your magicka and stamina consumption so that you shouldn't easily run out of either and should be able to get them both back up again quickly.

Hope this helped as a basic introduction.

I just read somewhere, someone is having issues with other players actually yelling at him and kicking him from groups for trying to group as a Templar DPS in trials. I'll try to find thread...

Thanks for this, I will show this to my wife and get her going with this type of build. Hopefully it will be a nice change from the regular staff/cloth build.

My Breton Templar is dual wield and 1 hand shield wearing 5 medium and 2 light armor. All attribute points in health and stamina enchants. I'm only VR1, but so far the build has worked well.

I've been able to solo both the Coldharbor public dungeon as well as the first veteran public dungeon taking down the "group" challenge even by myself.

1 hand shield rocks for bosses. I use ransack and deep slash to debuff the boss and buff my armor. Puncturing sweep for some heal and damage then my fourth slot is optional, blazing shield, a cleanse, expert hunter, whatever is best for the situation. I keep my main heal in slot 5 always no matter the game so I always know what to smack when I need a big heal.

The passives are amazing in 1 hand and shield, if she hasn't tried it yet she will be astounded at the damage you can mitigate.

For dual wield I use ember explosion and steel tornado for general aoe and debuff. Puncturing sweep is still on the bar for heal and aoe. Heal in 5 as above and then another optional skill, often blood craze which does a lot of damage and heals a little.

You can definitely drop ember for boss fights without adds as the miss chance will not apply to the boss anyway. Flurry for more dps or utility like blazing shield, rune focus, cleanse, expert hunter etc. makes more sense.

I'm loving the ability to aoe packs with dual wield and swap to 1 hand shield for really tough bosses!

I just read some of your other posts in this forum about templars and you're getting me worried but man I love playing this class so far.

Thanks for all the responses! Keep 'em coming, it will be nice to see a strong melee build one day to give some competition to the cloth/staff bunch.

Considering the best DPS classes are robe and staff NB and DK, you can stop whining about your class who at least excels at healing instead of being a mediocre class overshadowed by others on any aspect.

Really, I'm much more dramatic than necessary. I'm actually in AA at this moment and I'm kicking ass. Granted gotta work a bit for it but it's still pretty good and fun.

    Also,

Easy there bub, both outdo Templars and frankly Templar healing is amazing yes, but not entirely necessary.

run a darkelf templar in coat of the red mountain - try and get a little bit of magicka and spell damage aswell as softcapping stam and weapon damage (don't forget to have atleast 2.5k hp). Bar one: repentance, vampires bane, bloodcraze, flurry, steel tornado, flawless. Bar two (2h) power of the light, rally, executioner, -any two buffs you want to run - NOVA. Open fights with POTL, weapon swap vampires bane, bloodcraze, flurry away, swap back and POTL again, rinse repeat until boss is ~ 30%, go to 2h, activate rally and start mashing executioner. Should push over 1k quite happily :)
