Move Inner Fire to Undaunted Level 1

We need tanks in dungeons earlier, and not everyone wants to use a sword and shield.

Moving Inner Fire from Undaunted Level 3 to Undaunted level 1 would allow Two Handed and Dual Wield tanks (as well as many others) to actually TANK by taunting enemies.

I leveled my orc to 50, trying to be a Two Handed tank... But I couldn't actually taunt until I had already completed all of the dungeons. Kind of defeated the purpose of it.

Full agree. Taunts are such a basic tool for the tank archetype that I really don't see any reason to delay them unneccessarily. Especially since the skills placed above inner fire are very rarely used anyway.

But when are tank even needed? Every group dungeon is a lot easier and faster if you just have four dps with off heals.

There is no need for a tank until trials.

As long as all players know how to block, dodge and keep out of the red circles on the floor, why would you ever need a tank?

Blood Bowl isn't really that great of a heal, its just a passive bonus. You can get better from a Templar's radiant aura. I think I agree Inner Fire is a good choice at level 1 Undaunted, and to be honest it was something I wanted all along. Its something I work to achieve as soon as possible on most of my tanks, because then I don't have to chase the boss around all the time the moment I lose hate. It also makes grabbing hate easier, without having to stand in a circle and take a beating sooner. All in all, I prefer Inner Fire to the alternatives, though I have used both Inner fire and ransack (on different bars) together. That way if one resource was out I still had the other.

It really isn't that you don't need the tank, but more than it would be nice to allow tanking alternatives like this as soon as possible.

If the skills were progressively better updates of each other, or a general increase in power, that would make sense.

In the current situation though, you are rather likely to be at least halfway through the veteran levels before you even unlock the most basic mechanic for the tank archetype in a form that will work for your magicka build. Personally, I do think that's just bad design.

It's not "the best stuff", it's a simple ranged taunt. You shouldn't have to grind dungeons for a basic tank skill. That should be the first or second one you get.

Necrotic Orb and Bone Shield, that's what you grind Undaunted for. Extraordinary skills in a group that adds something extra with the synergy.

Fact is, the best (lower-level) tanks use sword and board. If you want to be a 2H tank, Resto staff tank, or (have mercy!) a Bow tank, you're going to have to accept that you're not going to get all the skills you want right away.

"Play how you want" =/= Get all the skills you need to play the way you want from level 1, or even level 50. If you're choosing an unusual build, this is just how things work.

Perhaps when they introduce spellcrafting, one of the things you could craft may be a taunt. Then you could craft that and tank as anything.

Provide a taunt at Level 1, not a taunt that does damage and great synergy damage at level 1.

As many have said, it's earned.

However, there should be other taunts available, as they seem to be few and far between.

We won't even get into the discussion on effectiveness.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.
