The [snip] NightBlade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sneak + Stealth mechanic doesn't make sense
Weapon split between magicka and stamina doesn't make sense
Combat doesn't end when you cloak
Difficult to Dual Wield
Some spells just are horrible and are bugged still

But you know what...

I tried Templar as a melee DPS
I tried a Sorcerer as a 2H melee DPS (even attempted as a caster)
I tried a DK Dual Wield Melee....and got very confused....

The Nightblade....I [snip] LOVE IT!!!!!!

Only level 30 still and despite everyone BSing about it - its a fun class - it makes melee interesting for me and doesn't feel like a standard assassin or rogue...feels like a melee shadow mage.

Level 30.
Imperial NightBlade
Dual Wield ONLY (no secondary weapon)
5 medium 2 heavy (Chest and Shoulders) dyed Black and Red
Passives into all class skills, DW only and All Medium Armor / Heavy armor passives + racials

Skill combo:
Shadow Disguse
Concealed Weapon (for movement speed)
Blinding Flurry
Killers Blade
Leaching Strikes (always toggled on)

im sorry but this class is really good and a lot of fun right now....Zenimax - great job designing this class - feels like a combo between assassins creed + mage + warrior

Its a weird class combo but it flows nicely.

I liked Templar as a "Holy Spartan" DPS....but this Nightblade makes me feel like the Immortals from the movie 300....just epic

    ps.

When thief's guild and Morong Tong / Dark Brotherhood come out....trust me...you guys will WISH you have Nightblades.

Especially when they do fix / balance certain game mechanics.

    Zenimax.

Take your time - I am having fun right now and enjoying the class and game so far.

When the fixes are done - they are done - do not rush, we gamers always *** and cry about crap....just do what you got to do.

For your first MMO ....you F-ing nailed it beautifully.

Be proud of yourselves for what you have done and accomplished.

(now pay me my 1 million euro's that you promised me if I would type all this):smiley:

now they have to fix all the bugged out and useless abilities.

its a fun class, that much is not being denied. I have twice as much fun with it than I do the other 3, but the class is weak compared to DKs and sorcerers(maybe even Templars in some situations)

ZOs does not deserve the praise you have just given them on the creation of the NB class, it has a lot of work that needs done on it.

but it will get there, and when the thieves guild/dark brotherhood comes out.....

    it may get interesting.

I'm playing more or less the way I want... my DW NB VR7 is doing maybe 450 dps if lucky so going through the vet content can be challenge sometimes.

My recently made DK with light armor and staff on VR1 can easily do over 700dps.

Seriously, why do people feel the need to educate others based on their very clearly limited and one sided experience?

Let the man be happy on the class choice he has made. At least it requires bit more than spamming one button to succeed. Hopefully the stam upgrades will make my build also bit better.

To help the world's educational crisis - I will help educate you "Guybrushtb16_ESO"

My post was to be a comical misdirection.

It was more of an expression of my enjoyment of a class I previously did not think I would enjoy.

:) I hope that clears things up!

Agreed. ZoS made a great game and they at least recognize the problems with NB abilities not working properly and say they are fixing them. I think in the end they probably will and when they do NB is going to be more Effing fun than it already is.

@OP you nailed it. The NB is a melee shadow mage. Exactly what it's supposed to be.

In my books, a class is fine, as long as, A ) it can kill other classes 1v1 in PvP, B ) pull its weight in group PvP and C ) solo group content.

All ESO classes can do it. The NB may need some work here and there, but it's not a bad class. It may lack brute staying power of a DK, but it has great tactical potential with teleport to shade, invisibility and traps.

An advise from an older NB: start using the second weapon set for returning quests. Take any weapon you you want to level up for future. Open the skills you might use in future, and put them to the second skillbar.

Every time you return a quest, swap to that bar, and your new skills advance quickly. Because major part of XP comes when returning a quest, the weapon and every skill in your bar get a big boost. The skills can be a horrible mix. It doesn't matter because you are not actually using that bar. But when you need the skills, they are already leveled/morphed.

If you started a dialog which has the"Return Quest", just click "Goodbye", swap and restart the dialogue.

Occasionally check the leveling bar. Morph skills or swap them to new ones. You are surely having fun, but without this you are "painting yourself into a corner". You probably have maxed skills in you main bar. Without swapping your character advancement may even stall, because the XP is lost to advancing already-maxed skills.

Also, wear at least one piece of every armor type. Preferably have them crafted with training trait. E.g. have five pieces of medium armor, but have a heavy chest and a light belt. This way every armor type is eventually maxed to 50. EDIT: clarification: Have the two single pieces crafted with trainig trait, not all seven.
