Death Stroke Nerf ??

--Death Stroke: This ability now deals 35% increased damage, and no longer scales up with increased Ultimate. Death Stroke now also increases the damage you deal to a target by 20% for 6 seconds.


Previous, I used to overcharge DS to 275%, where it would do substantial damage.
Would combo with Ambush or concealed weapon.

I appears they have nerfed this....can anyone confirm??

    Don't know seems to me that if you use it as soon as it comes up and that's very fast you do more damage then trying to overcharge it in the past it kicks butt.

    This. It's a nerf in the burst capability, a buff in sustained capability.

    770 tooltip damage plus a buff to increase your damage by 20% for 6 seconds is a nice thing ult to have at such a low cost. Throw in a healing debuff that frequently for pvp use, damn that sounds great.

    On top of that, add the morph abilities to either allow you to use it more frequently via increased ult gain on deaths, or one that adds a knockdown/stun to enemies with higher hp than you? After the change, even if losing base damage from overcharging ult, it's still a damn good ability.

    Its not really a nerf at all, more of a buff. Here are some numbers to prove it, I tested this on the same stam build on Live that is on PTS(We can do that now :) yay!)

    Live Server:
    Soul Harvest base damage: 578
    578 + 275% overcharge damage + crit = 1168
    Ambush + Soul Harvest(overcharged to 280%) + crit = 1492
    Ambush + Soul Harvest(overcharged to 750%) + crit = 1773

    Test Server:
    Soul Harvest base damage: 770
    770 + crit = 1195
    Ambush + Soul Harvest + crit = 1665

    So unless you are overcharged your Death Stroke to 700%+ this is not a nerf, but a buff

    i tested my DPS abilitys with it.... it has a SERIOUS effect on dps when its active, and its easy to upkeep.

    its not even a nerf since the general damage is still what it always was but now you have no reason to save up past 50%.

    it seems like a nerf but trust me... its 100% overall a buff for NB.
    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

    Conversion from burst to sustain. Pretty much how most mmos solve heavy burst issues. Rarely bothers me. Too used to it.

    Sould Harvest is slightly awkward in pve now in that on one hand, it encourages you to use it on your aoe bar, because it's fueled by things actually dying, on the other hand it seems like they want you to use it in sustained single target encounters for the buff. I'm still not sure if or where I'd want to have it in place of the usual veil/dawnbreaker combo though.

    So... This change aint that bad in PVE. This bonus 20% bonus dmg with 50 ulti cost is actualy may be even better then VoB for DPS but...
    Bu you removed last decent tactics for NightBlades in PVP which is ambush(sneak attack) burst kills.
    Seriously, the only way NB's could kill Sorc (who just blink away in normal fight) or DK (who just reflect all the crap back to you in normal fight) was to ambush and burst them.
    Snipe attack also reduced in damage.

    Yet another confirmation that ZOS dont want to see NB in PVP.

    What are you saing? You are acutally dealing more DMG unless you charged Death Stroke over 700%.

    Sometimes I got situations where my target is at 25% life and Impale didn`t killed it, cause they had more HP than Impale hit for. Now Impale will do additional 20% DMG after Death Stroke. Same for our other Skills.

    Criplling Grasp, Surprise Attack, Weapon Skills. ALL will do 20% more DMG after Death Stroke and with its cheap 50 Ulti., you can easily use it in every fight.

    I would even change now Dawnbreaker for Death Stroke, cause Initial High DMG + 50% Healdebuff + 20% more DMG for 6 seconds are an awesome Burst.

    This is going to be insane in PvE, for both stamina & magicka specs. With ultimate cost of 50, you should be able to keep it up 24/7.

    It also might be better than Flawless Dawnbreaker in PvP as well, atleast for melee bar (bow bar will be better with Dawnbreaker, since your stealth Snipe won't benefit from the +20% dmg).

    Really happy with the change, I think ZOS nailed it.

    Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.
