Molten Weapons + Morphs.

Hello,

at the Moment i test my Dragonknight and some of his Skills. The Molten Weapons is a interesting one. At the first Sight i mean the Morph (Molten Arsenal?) with the Critbonus of 27% at Morphlevel 1 is the better Morph. The other gives me atm +2 Dam to Light/Heavy Attacks.

So if i see this right, i could spam the Skill every 6s to get the 27% Critbonus for me and my Group? I think this is a heavy Supportskill or not? I mean why i should choose the other Morph, if i can get such a high Bonus?

Or is the Bonus from the Molten Weaponmorph (Eruptive Weapon?), with the Damagebonus +2 to Light/Heavy Attacks at Morphlevel 1, for anything good now?

Maybe some of the other Dragonknights could share their Experience with me.

The +x Flame damage on Light/heavy Attacks is the better one. On level 4 it is around 50ish by tooltip
And it keeps up as long as the buff is up. Not for only just 6 secs.

The bonus from morphs also only applies on you as caster. Everybody that gets the buff from you will only get the +weapon damage.

In Order for the crit morph to be the most effective you would have to recast it every 6 seconds. So you are not doing something else than recasting it -> spell -> recast -> spell. So you waste DPS. With LA weave you take way more benefit out of the added flame damage.

    Hope it helps you ;)

As a crit surge sorcerer, I love it when people use Molten Armaments frequently. I wouldn't use it ever six seconds outside of the execution stage of a hard boss fight though, since you want to make sure that you have enough magicka for your other spells.

Yes, these are good Infos, thank you. I don`t know that the Bonus will be so high later in Level 4 because it starts with 2 Damage on my Tooltip.

And like SirPuppingtonVonHat says, it is hard to recast this Spell every 6s. It cost Time and Resources.

I would have picked the crit morph if the crit increase lasted more than 6 seconds... the flame morph increases up to I think 34 flame damage at rank 4.

The Molten Armaments +crit % morph is really geared for the Medium Armor Stamina spec. Note every time you cast it Helping Hands passive returns 5% of your max Stamina. Bigger pool, bigger return. Being that it's the cheapest Earthen Heart skill it's the best one to use to capitalize on Helping Hands, and since it's a 6 second buff, the rotation is a very intuitive means for Stamina sustain. At 50+ the skill will cost 280 Magicka without reductions, so with a Magicka recovery of 95 you'll cover the cost just with recovery every 6 seconds. It stacks well with Flames of Oblivion, the Thief mundus stone (tack on Divines trait Armor), Dual Wield daggers, and the Precise trait.

That said the build scope for it is a bit narrow, and is mostly beneficial to Medium Armor, DW (dagger), and Bow type builds with already higher crit rates.

The Igneous Weapons morph is the better general purpose type morph, especially for the Dunmer DK's with a fire fetish. Having that extra damage rider is great and since it's additional Flame damage, not added Flame Damage, it's an independent damage source with an independent ability to crit, independent ability to cause the fire DoT effect that all sources of flame damage can cause, and thus is improved by 66% via the Ardent Flame passive, Kindling. Great to double down with a Flame damage enchant, especially with Powered trait Weapons. Legendary Powered Weapons reduce enchant CD by 50%, and when you couple that with Torugs Pact for an additional 1 second CD reduction, you've got a steady stream of double Flame damage sources streaming out of your basic attacks.

I've used both set ups, and ultimately landed on the Igneous Weapons morph in my current build using Powered Weapons and Torugs Pact set Armor. Though to be honest I dropped the Flame enchant on my melee set (still use it on my Bow though), and went with Crushing enchants to stack with Burning Breath.

Hope that helps you a touch! Happy Hunting!
