Just making this topic because somebody mentioned something about class descriptions and the classes not measuring up to them, such as Nightblades having to use a stick and a dress to survive when they were built to primarily use stealth and blades and bows and such.
To that end, let me copy and paste some class descriptions ripped right off the character creation page in the game (still a good game btw) to show you:
Dragonknight - These skillful masters-at-arms use the ancient Akaviri martial arts tradition of battle-spirit, and wield fearsome magic that pounds, shatters, and physically alters the world around them.
I'd say that got that part right.
Sorcerer - Sorcerers use conjuration and destruction spells, hurling lightning bolts and creating shock fields, wielding dark magic to snare and stun, and summoning from Oblivion to conjure Daedric combat followers.
Pretty spot on too, although pets need work imho/according to other Sorcs.
Nightblade - Nightblades are adventurers and opportunists with a gift for getting in and out of trouble. Relying variously on stealth, blades, and speed, Nightblades thrive on conflict and misfortune, trusting to their luck and cunning to survive.
Ehhh, sort of? Using a bow they can rock face in PvP but I don't see too many PvE NB's using melee or bows these days, and it's kinda saddening as I always loved fighting alongside that archetype. Felt like having a Legolas to my Aragorn.
Templars - These traveling knights call upon the powers of light and the burning sun to deal massive damage to their enemies while restoring health, magicka, and stamina to their allies.
Hahaha deal massive damage, ok. No, as a Templar I feel they're quite very off on this one in-game. Sure, I can heal, sure I have skills that restore health and magicka, but they feel very half-assed and pretty much fail if I don't use Light Armor (defeating the purpose of being a Knight cough heavy armor cough) and a Restoration Staff. My "Deals Massive Damage" feels more like a tease at a stripclub; I'm paying for something I'm never going to get. That's what it feels like due to wonky animations, cast times, cooldowns (don't lie, we know they're there, WE'RE ON TO YOU ZOS), and in general a lack of damage from said skills, as well as zero regen of our own.
Off on the target for NB's Stealth/Melee and Very off on Templars for everything but healing.
Anyone else feel similar to this sentiment or is it just me?
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!
