[BUG] Solar Flare bugged

Okay, it has been for a while...

The subsequent weapon/spell boost you get from this spell does not always apply. I went a re-tested it on 200 dreughs yesterday, and it seemed completely randon when subsequent attacks were empoered - and in most cases the boost never even triggered.

Twice I got lucky and it actually empowered two subsequent attacks.

The coding on this ability is in so much need of an overhaul. Not only is the damage a little too low compared to the casting time and animation time, but the very thing that should make it good is utterly broken.

Re-code it so that it empowers the attacker's spell and weapon power for a flat 6 seconds instead. And please give it a faster animation and more efficient target locking.

In comparison, it is much easier to get a crystal shard to lock and execute on a target, which is silly since they are both 1.3 sec channels.

    Yeah the spell really sucks. It should have an instant cast proc, too. It would add depth and allow for much easier fitting into Backlash's window. As it is now, you can get more damage from 2-3 sunfires vs. 1-2 (AT MOST) dark flares.

    I agree with this thread. With light weaving and animation cancelling just spamming sunfire would probably out perform solar flare.

    I agree with this thread. With light weaving and animation cancelling just spamming sunfire would probably out perform solar flare.

    Additionally, the bonus is either eaten by another player, a tick of something, or as the OP shows, doesn't apply at all.

    Solar Flare and Dark Flare should apply a buff on the Templar, Solar Barrage needs a DoT or something to make it worth using. Spear Shards is much stronger than Solar Barrage right now and due to the debuff's iffy application. Which doesn't work on the Templar.

    There's a hundred different ways to go with this, yet I've already written novels on how to fix the class and /crickets. So all I'm going to say is that Solar Flare and both its morphs need MAJOR work.

    I had pulled the spell off my bar completely because my dps was consistently lower while using it. It does seem to be eaten up by other players at times

    It's lower simply due to the cast time and lack of damage.

    Also noticed how hard it is to get this ability to "lock" on target and execute compared to crystal shards?

    This ability, plus it's morphs, should definately also buff the templar's weapon and spell power for a fixed duration like 6 seconds rather than applying it to a subsequent attacks - which doesn't even trigger anyways in most cases.

    We're beating a horse here but it is far from dead. This ability needs to be overhauled just like a lot of the other templar abilities with their unreasonable cooldowns and wonky animations.

    This is true for almost everything with an animation time.
