Petrify and its moprhs (poor design?)

So the Dk skill petrify says it stuns for 12 seconds and gives a damage shield of about 250 to the player effected. If you break this shield, they break out. The problem is, its a 12 second STUN but it acts like a disorient. Not many use this in cyro, but its hugely noticable at dueling. Every DK has slotted this skill right now. What they do is petrify you, and then within 4 seconds shield charge you. Petrify doesnt give CC immunity, so what ends up happening is that you are stunned and then re stunned.

So either the tooltip needs to be changed to say its a disorient and get rid of the 250 point damage shield, or give us our immuntity once the effect ends and not let us be restuned.

Side Note: Why is the DK skill insta cast, deals damage on break/effect end and one morph reduces all resource regen by 50%, while the NB variant, has a 1.5 sec cast time and does a very low dmg DoT?

    I believe the devs have created different abilities for different classes. Might I ask which variant of Consuming Darkness the DK can use to go invisible?

    The times I have used Petrify on my DK, the opponent used break out and I was then unable to stun them again. Maybe the off-balance component of Shattering Rocks is what you are seeing when damage is breaking the stun.

    A Dragonknight can use either morph of consuming Darkness to go invisible as it is a synergy and hence applies to allies not the Nightblade casting it.

    I should have said Shadow Cloak, that was my mistake for not looking the skills up. The point is that differing classes do not need to have variants of the same skills, and indeed, should not have, IMO.

    Well DKs have Dragon Blood and NBs Shadow Cloak, even though, that our Skill is bugged since Release unlike yours.

    But Petrify and Argony from NB are already the same skills and are only different in their second effects. Funny though, that Petrify is superior to Argony in any aspect but is an instant cast, too. Where NBs have a1.5 sec casttime.
    But well, nothing new, that DKs gets the best of the best after all. :D

    I you cc break the petrify, you will be immune to the shield charge stun. Petrify+shield charge isn't any different from shield charge+another shield charge - if you don't break the first but wait it out, the second will stun you again.

    @Sharee

    No thats not right. If you wait out the first shield charge, you still get 5 seconds of immunity.

    Why are you placing this on a class vs class basis? If you have broken skills, then ask for them to be fixed. Why would you even bring that up in a discussion about a different class' skills?

    Petrify and Agony are not the same skills. In the base form the only thing that is the same is that they are both stuns. Literally, nothing else about the skills in the base form is the same.

    There is no reason this needs to be a competition between classes.
