At a crossroad...to proceed or not.

I love ESO. I want to eventually get through every quest and see everything in the game. However, I don't have a whole lot of time, so I'll likely only ever do it once, as it took me from early access until about 2 weeks ago just to get through the main quest, guild quests, through my faction zones, and to VR1.

Now I am at VR1 and am at a crossroad. There are great systems coming, but who knows when (spellcrafting, justice system, better lip syncing), but the biggest in my mind is the champion system. I don't know how this will affect playing the vet zones or how they will convert VR14+ players to the new system.

So now I really can't decide to take some time off, play other games (but ESO always calls at me), and wait for at least the champion system to be implemented (and possibly others); try to get through the other 2 faction zones with the vet system now; or use alts to get through the other faction zones.

Any thoughts or anyone else with this dilemma?

That's a tough one. On the one hand if you are enjoying yourself why stop playing? On the other hand it seems like you want to keep up with everyone else but you can't. The champion system may still be a while before release we don't know yet. From what I understand of the Champion system is its going to do a few things. It will make the vet grind much easier and quicker so you may be able to not have to do the other factions quests to get to max level. So there is nothing wrong with rolling an alt and trying doing another factions quests if it is unimmersive. Then of course when the Champ system comes out they will do the resting system too. So that will help you get to max level with your main. Best thing to do is weigh the positive and negatives and then make your decision.

give up, stop your account now while you still have hair. Cause in 3 months you will have ripped it all out in frustration at how bad the game STILL is......

I don't think the game is bad now nor am I frustrated with it. It is only getting better. That's the thing. I probably won't have time to go through factions more than once and if I do it now I feel I may miss out on these systems coming later plus from what I hear I may not enjoy the factions at vet levels as much as I would with an alt or after the champion system.

Don't listen to @Talrenos‌. Based on his other posts today he seems to be in a cranky mood.

If you are having fun don't stop. I would say go ahead with the other zones but maybe at a slower pace than the first one. Just my suggestion.

Well the Champ system will be Account wide. If you don't think you'll have time then just do it on one character. Personally I sped through them as fast as possible. Did quests without reading and what not. Now I can go back and do them with alts. You may not enjoy it at vet since its not as easy as 1-50 but it really isn't that hard either. But no you won't miss out on the Champ system since everything will convert over. so if you hit VR14 with your main its still gonna be there but you'll have the Champ points already in place.

I'm wondering the same thing atm OP. I have been leveling alts at the same time as my main so I'm swapping over to my alts to level them up to VR as well to wait out the champion system if I can.

Not clear on how ZOS is going to back date any champion points to VR players so I think I might just wait for the new system and then I wont have to worry about it. Having said that if in a few months we are still waiting I think I'm just going to have to keep going with my main.

If you enjoyed the story, I'd suggest rerolling and experiencing the other alliances as they were meant to be. Doing the VR zones for the story just felt wrong to me, but grind-questing through them still takes it's time and if you ain't got any to waste, I'd rather wait till they have sped up that particular part at least.

But then, if you're a completionist like me, it's still very rewarding to have it all on one character. Either case, if you enjoy spending your time on ESO, I see no reason to stop.

I actually hit that issue myself. As there is still a lot of mystery I kinda didn't want to advance so instead I created an ally so I could experience the other factions as they are meant to be experienced. Now I have 2 vr toons and am starting my third and final faction ep

I always take a break when I start getting disenchanted with a game, personally. It can really refresh your interest.

Doesn't even mean unsubbing, if you don't mind the sub fee. Just taking a few days or a week away can be good.

That's just it...*ARE* you having fun? Think about it, actual fun, do you long to come home form work/school just to log in and play? Are you anticipating the next quest your going to do? Is your character perfect for you?

I'm not any longer. In fact, I have more fun on these forums than I have playing the da*n game. If fun was the only factor keeping peoples wallets open, then there would be about 12 players....

Playing through the other factions is a lot easier now than it was.

It's fun to explore the other factions in VR. But it does start to feel really grindy.

I think the issue is, for solo PvE players, lack of options other than grind out VR.

My own experience, having been there and done that:

Craglorn quests: WORTH IT.
Theorycrafting/leveling different skills/morphs: WORTH IT.
Crafting high level gear sets: WORTH IT.

CYRODIIL: WORTH IT.

This by the way from someone who very rarely bothers with PVP in any MMO, and I have played all the major ones for the last decade or so.

PVP in Cyrodiil is EPIC.

Bad for you doesn't mean bad for everyone else. If you came here expecting this game to be just another MMO then you came here with the wrong idea .

I came here expecting this to be more like Skyrim but turned into a multiplayer experience and the chance to explore all of Tamriel in one game instead of several ones and i'm happy with the game .

Not happy with everything mind you but i'm sattisfied with it for the money i'm paying for it .

So just don't assume that because you don't like the game that everyone feels the same way.
