Templar - help with change to VR

Just wanted to find some tips for a Templar heading towards the VR zones mainly looking for advice/comments for solo content.

I'm running a Breton Templar. I'm wearing 5 light and two heavy for armour. On my hotbars I'm currently running with

Sword & Board
1) Reflective Light
2) Puncturing Sweep
3) Blazing Spear
4) Shield Assault
5) Sun shield / Eclipse or Silver shards depending on situation
U) Crescent Sweep

Resto Staff
1) Breath of Life
2) Rapid Regeneration
3) Power of the Light
4) Cleansing Ritual
5) Combat Prayer
U) Solar Prison

Magicka or health glyphs on all items and impenetrable or infused traits on armour and precise on weapons. Using the Thief mundus and my stats are mostly in magicka about a third in health and four points in stam. Use blue health and magicka food. Set up so that I use the sword and board for most solo content and just swap if I need a heal. Otherwise the healing staff is for a group healer role.

I'm still leveling sun shield, eclipse and cleansing ritual but I'm leaning towards blazing shield, total dark and purifying ritual.

When fighting trash I usually start with Reflective Light, Shield assault to the archer/mage/barbarian (with the cc) in that order, drop a blazing spear and then puncturing sweep whatever is left. Currently have Crescent Sweep in the ultimate and use it as a sixth skill (interspersing it with puncturing sweep when it pops). Long term was going to swap it for the mage guild ice comet and fighters guild flawless dawnbreaker when I can access them.

It feels like for solo play I should be changing up my bars maybe move a heal on to the first bar (in Australia so lag with the swap is an issue) and including some more solo range/support friendly skills in my second weapon to make it more usefulfor soloing. Something like this:

Sword & board
1) Crippling slash
2) Puncturing sweeps
3) Blazing Shield
4) Shield Assault
5) Breath of Life
U) Flawless Dawnbreaker

Resto Staff
1) Reflective Light
2) Rapid Regeneration
3) Total Dark
4) Purifying ritual
5) Power of the Light
U) Ice Comet

I assume in VR that I will be getting more DPS coming in and so using sun shield and Eclipse will be more important, but just wondering what other VR Templars are doing and what changes they noticed in their play styles going from the first alliance to the VR zones. If people can tell me their usual order of attack with trash in VR zones as well that would be helpful.

I haven't included inner light though I have leveled it up because two spots on the bars just seems like a lot and not necessary at the moment. Is it more important to get crits in VR zones, should I make room for it?

All constructive comments and suggestions appreciated.

9 views and no LOLs or L2P posts so does that mean I might be on track and that my planned build might be feasible for VR PvE?

the time of difficult VR mobs is "long" gone. its the same as pre lvl50 slot what you like (you can even choose by style icon liking) its perfectly playable.
crafted equip pre vr12 is absolutly uneneccesary so keep your money its not worth spending while lvling.

but as a advice get the vr1 warlock set (3x jewlery, head+shoulders) slot magica reduce glyhs in jewlery
use this spec PS+siphon spirit is a must it trivials every mob fight
siphon spirit(does not generate aggro) -> charge in ->solar barrage-> blazing spear -> PS every two or three mob groups drop an additional channaled focus after charging in.

Hardest thing you're going to face in VR are some of the bosses, which are more of a test of your ability to pay attention and use mechanics than your actual build.

Since you seem to have put actual thought into your decisions, I'm gonna go ahead and assume you'll do pretty well soloing most of the VR content, if not all of it.

For perspective, every quest, mob, and boss I've completed in VR so far, I've done as a healer templar using nothing but 2H attacks and Radiant Ward. I'd use a wider variety of skills, but I've got a bunch of situational ones leveling and they're just not worth adding to that rotation yet.

I am pretty much steamrolling through VR content with a temp using S/S and biting jabs, with a little blazing shields thrown in.

For the tougher fights, I switch to restro to regen magica faster.

That's just fine for VR trash mobs. After the most recent adjustments, they are really not noticably harder than 1-50 content anymore. Personally I prefer Invasion over Shielded Assault even in PvE, because the damage shield usually isn't necessary and the stun on archers/casters more useful. That's a minor detail though.

The one thing I'd recommend is looking into sets for your equipment. At Vr1 you can get Warlock, but you'll prob have to buy it through the guild traders. If you have a crafter, something like the Seducer set is a cheap and decent alternative. There are plenty of sites around listing all the sets.
