God of Schemes - Hotfix Now Live

We have pushed a hotfix for an issue that was preventing some of you from completing the quest “God of Schemes” in Coldharbour.

[Spoilers Ahead!]

Dying during the final confrontation with Molag Bal will no longer stop you from using Sacrifice of Courage to defeat him. This hotfix will resolve most cases where the quest was not able to be completed. If you are still unable to complete God of Schemes after today’s hotfix, please reply to this thread with the steps you took to get the quest into a bugged state.

What about when you first walk up to him and he grabs you? He just drops you and you either die and start all over, or you survive and are stuck unable to move and he never comes down to fight.

Just logged a case with Support. Sorry about finding this one later.
I have been running up the stairs since yesterday and I think it was the hotfix that sent me back to the Harborage because yesterday everytime I logged off/on I respawned in Heart's Grief.

Anyways, I didn't do anything in particular today. Just ran through the quest, killed the monsters and wound up at the stairs again. The first two times, Molag Bal picked me up, I got no notification of using the SoC power, and he dropped me.
Both times I died and respawned nicely.
Third time he picked me up and the game just kept me in that grasp. No controls. No notification to use the SoC power. No nothing. Just Bal growling at me.
Fourth to sixth time he picked me up, dropped me and this time I survived. On the ground I seem to stay in that "grabbed" state. I just keep hanging above ground and shaking as if still in his grasp. No notification, no controls, no abilities.

Yeah, what he said...

Molag picks me up and either drops me, where I a) die or b) hang on ground... In two of 20 cases, he kept me in his hand and growled for minutes without anything else happening...

I'm in game right now and it's acting the same for me as well. He grabs me and yells at me w/o the press X deal or drops me and I die.

No dice, just an endless loop of roaring. I don't seem to be getting dropped, but I still can't use the sacrifice of courage.

We have identified an additional issue, and pushed a temporary fix for it on both the North American and European megaservers. Could those of you who were running into this issue try one more time?

Worked for me tonight. It did seem to try and get stuck briefly both at the start where you have to break his grip and at the end when his health hits zero, but it did continue.

Similar for me, more so at the end though. I actually got held in place/stuck when his health was super low but I thought he was still a few crystal shards or heavy resto staff attacks away from death, but he got right up on me as im frantically trying to dodge or move or unstick myself then suddenly I cut him in half or some crap, woo. So apparently it at least finished the scripted part without sticking this time.

Worked for me as well, fight was actually much easier than I expected as a NB after reading everything about how it was supposed to be "impossible" for some classes.

not getting stuck at the boss but now after I defeat him and get teleported to the mystical floating plane and I am stuck there with no NPC's to talk to or anywhere to walk other than to the rocky platform at the end. only way I can get out is i f I log out for a while and it teleports me to the Harbourage entrance and I have to restart the quest again

from the screen shots found on the quest I assume im supposed to see a glowing, floating NPC but I got nothing

Nice but how about a fix for stuttering screen in game menu since last patch? I'm kinda tired of rebooting my pc everytime I log in cause it mess with windows after. I sent a bug report like many others when it was discussed on forums...

It looks like this was fixed in the past, but today I ran into the bug where Molag Bal picks you up, drops you, and you die. Can't even start the fight.
