Battered Bear Trap?

What use is a Battered Bear Trap?

I have one in my inventory and it says it is a Trophy but I don't know what to do with it.
It takes up a Bank / Inventory slot which I need for useful stuff.

What should I do with this?

Right click in inventory and use.... inside the door of a bank so people walk on it.... : P If it still works on other players, the fun will ensue.

I deleted it. I'd love to keep the trophies, but they usually don't have any practical use and bank space is precious.

You may need to quick slot it first. I tested it on an actual bear. Had no noticeable impact.

Bear trap and other trophies, along with disguises should have a spot outside of normal bag space. Similar to quest items. It would be fun going to that page and seeing the trophies stack up. I'd actually be excited to get a trophy instead of meh, nice but do I keep it.

I have been putting all my trophies on a spare character, some look alright, just need a way of displaying them.

But the bear trap was a tad disappointing.

If you "use" it, it will actually set the trap on the ground near you. If someone is too close, then it goes off immediately and you don't really get to see it, but if you are alone, it will set and seems to stay that way for a short time or until something gets close to it at which time it snaps. Victim seems no worse for the wear.

Although Trophies are for the most part useless, I still keep them. I have found them to be useful props when interacting with other players. I ran into a guy in PvP the other day that had a trophy and he was roleplaying his character with it. It was hilarious!

Small story:
I put a zone message out for assistance to repair a keep. Only one person responded. He's playing his character up. He goes "I'm coming over and guess what? I have a new secret weapon!" When he arrives, I see he's only level 16. He's dressed in dorky looking armor which looked really out of place in Cyrodiil. He waves this torch looking trophy around and says "Look at this!" I say, "What does it do?" He says, "I don't know, but isn't it cool?" and then he waves it around again. I'm like...oh boy.

He doesn't stop there though. He sees an enemy AD player outside the keep standing there and yells, "I can take him!" and charges out there stopping every now and then to use his trophy on his foe as he moves in on him. By now I'm thinking this guy is nuts. I say "That's a VR8, he's gonna' one shot you!" no response, but does stop to use trophy one more time before attacking. I'm just standing back watching the soon to be carnage. Before I know it, this level 16 has a VR8's health down by like 25%. I'm like WTF? I go in with my DK and finish the job. Never fought back so must have stepped away, but this level 16, he's holding his trophy up again saying "It worked!!!"

One of the funniest things I've seen in PvP so far was this guy and his stupid trophy!

I got a spare character to hold all trophies and CE treasure maps as well

If it's unique, i won't delete it.

There some meat you get as a trophy, I forget it's name and what you need to do to get it, but the meat is funny. You can put it down on the ground and when someone eats it they get sick and throw up.

Someone at ZOS has a sense of humor.
