But I did submit a /bug with a link for the ZOS devs. I've made videos like this before, and they've always responded positively.

In the video I demonstrate testing 4 different potions, and show that for all but one of them, the Snakeblood passive doesn't do anything. I also took the one that worked and applied it to a character who doesn't have the passive at all, and it did what you'd expect it to. Just in case it was something about that potion that was behaving differently, and not the passive.

So sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, which is something that we didn't know before this.

And finally, for all of you who have enjoyed my discomfiture at this discovery, thank you for making it possible for me to get the 100 LOLs badge. I'm so proud.

Finally, @ZOS_AjanJ‌, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, and others.... please take note.

    UPDATE

My initial report has been ignored (i.e., no views on the video... Oops). ZOS, I'm disappointed. I've submitted another ticket today, 140730-002617. We'll see.

    UPDATE 2

The problem has been escalated, and I've heard from 2nd level support that it's been escalated further. They were able to reproduce my results, and have agreed that the Snakeblood passive gives inconsistent results and is not working as expected. The problem has been further escalated to the 3rd level. I will pass on whatever I hear next.

    FINAL UPDATE

SNAKEBLOOD IS SET TO BE FIXED IN AN UPCOMING PATCH

I received this from support today:
I've got some good news for you, this has been identified as a bug and a fix should be rolled out in an upcoming patch. I'd like to thank you for your due diligence in taking the time to report this to us in such depth.

If there is anything else you require, please feel free to reply directly to this email and I'll be more than happy to assist.

We'll all be interested in verifying the fix when it comes out, of course.

I will be testing it very extensively when the patch comes out and Srugzal thanks again for taking the time to work with me and to make a ticket about it. I would like to think that we had some part in all this to get this bug brought to their attention for a bug fix. This is the reason I started this post so they can see what problems there are with alchemy. Again thanks to all who helped out with this post.

If you use a potion with a negative version of an effect in the mixture, then the final potion won't have a positive version of that effect, even if the other two components have it positive.

For example if you add first component with restore health, second with restore health, and third with ravage health, the final potion will neither restore nor ravage health - the health portion is ignored.

This is not what we've been talking about. What you're bringing up is the way potion construction works and potion ingredients interact, which I think we all are in agreement about.

We've been talking about potions which have DoT effects, among other things.

I was replying to the people who wondered why the ingredients they mixed produced no potion - as shown on the screenshots on the previous page.

I'd just be tickled pink if they would even acknowledge publicly that Alchemy is broken in some regard (snakeblood or medicinal use). A post on a forum, reddit, anything....heck I'd be happy if they just said the word Alchemy because then we'd know they are aware that it is in the game.

Wow I appreciate your tenacity Srugzal. I barely have the time to play let alone b*tch with extensive proof to back you up :)

I also hope that when it's fixed, the wording will be more precise so we know exactly how it will or won't work.

My personal hope is that this skill gives the Alchemist the ability to filter OUT the negative effects of the potion in question upon creation. That way we can produce them for others and not simply negate the effects for ourselves.

Thanks! However, without everyone who insisted--with proof--that it wasn't working, I wouldn't have had the energy. I just... bugged the hell out of me. ;-)
