II just subbed app. two weeks ago. I was hesitant at first to sub but am actually having a good time in PVE. PVP, however, is a bit confusing to me.

Firstly, I rarely find other groups in Cyrodil. When I do, there are perhaps 5 or 6 people. Is this normal? Am I just spamming /zone and finding some random group rather than a more organized guild?

Secondly, the distance between keeps seems to be quite far. Was this intentional for some kind of game mechanic?

    1) Guild PvP is my preference. But pickup groups and solo play can be fun also. Just not as consistent.

    2) Yes.

If the Cyrodiil 'server' is normally populated, its not a problem getting groups. But there are only 2-3 or so servers/campaigns that are populated, the rest are dead Emperor farms.
Will change with 1.3, for better or worse.

So what you need to do is pvp in Wabbajack, there is constant action there. I have heard that Dawnbreaker and I know that the 14 day campaign has some action. Press "L" on your keyboard go to Wabbajack right click and at least guest there. The pvp population is a little low, because there are too many campaigns for the amount of active subscribers. The distance between keeps is annoying at first. It will be like that for a while. Once you get a fast horse it will make things much more convenient.

So should I try to join a PVP only guild perhaps? The guilds I am in now are basically market based and no one really groups to do anything. I suppose that's another thing I've noticed in the guilds I joined: People don't schedule runs or anything. Perhaps that's just my personal experience and not reflective of all guilds.

You probably joined trading guilds. Some are active in other areas too and build a community, but others just act like a tiny auction house. If you want action, you should look for a specialized PvP or PvE guild.

A lot of groups are now just guild groups and not really picking up a lot of random people. That is why you could see 50 people and not get an invite. Eventually you will get one and perhaps a good active guild.

The distance is on purpose. It makes things a bit more balanced as far as attack and defense goes. If they were closer, running from a spawn at nearby keep to help defend again after dying would pretty much make it almost impossible to take some keeps or would make attacking easier with being able to get the dead back faster (not including forward camps).
