And as of now I quit. I somehow thought the clicks and good old boy networks that make it really unpleasant to break into PVP in other MMOs was not the pattern in ESO. When I first logged into Cyrodiil, I got a PUG invite without even asking. And for most nights since then, I've been able to get myself invited to groups and, like I said above, had the most fun I've ever had in this game.
Some nights, it could take up to an hour or more before someone lording the group leadership would relent and actually grant an invite to someone who was not a V12 or personal friend, but I mostly have been able to get into a group and make a contribution. In the course of about 10 days, I was able to earn over 400k AP.
It's been trending more difficult though and tonight I sat logged in for over 4 hours asking repeatedly to get into a group so I could actually play but the 2 million plus AP group leader totally ignored my requests the whole evening. I don't know if they are afraid of losing their leader board position or if they are just *** but I'm done.Maybe I'll train up an AD player and see if things are any different over there. They always have a ton of people involved in every op so my guess it's their MO to get the most players possible involved and not just their 'friends'.
It's pretty disgusting to me to watch the player with the highest AP in the game lord group invites over people like he's some sort of god. Anyway, to those I fought with I want to say good show. DC is the best alliance in Cyrodiil and that is because of people like Grunt who treat newer players like they are actually people and happen also to be very talented at managing the battle.
Have fun ya'll and keep up the good work. Now, to the elitist snobs who couldn't bring themselves to actually lead a group but instead treated their position as an inheritance. I have only one hope for you and that is that this truly is your ONLY life.
Laters all.
