AvA sets

I am curious how many people use these vs just getting crafted set with full Impenetraiteable.
Currently using medium and light crafted, I like the bonuses on the AvA stuff but traits are just terrible on the Shield of the Valiant
Two sisters traits are good but set bonuses are crap
Potentates is decent perhaps
Deadly strikes might be good for 2h builds

Vampiresbane✭✭Potentates (15 POINT reduction) actually isn't great. Only time it's better than the Akavari Dragonguard set (15% reduction) is if you're using a VERY low* ultimate costing ability (like NightBlade's Death stroke at 50 ultimate).
*Note: As a rule of thumb, you want to equip Potentates if you use ultimates at cost less than 100 points. If you use ultimates that cost 100+, equip Dragonguard. This is assuming you have no other way to reduce the cost of the ultimates.
Cyrodiil's light is nice (-30% dmg while casting). Bastion of the Heartland (-20% dmg from aoe's and siege) isn't shabby either.
As a whole though, you're completely right, pvp sets are a little lackluster just comparing the set bonuses. Add to that the traits are not optimum for pvping...well it's even worse.Edited by Vampiresbane on 26 June 2014 17:090 -

✭I've got 7/7 Pact's Armor heavy set with the Bastion of the Heartlands bonus. I like it, 30% less damage from siege and AoE, 5% less damage from enemy players and a nice health boost. Plus it looks spiffy.

Heavy seems ok, I actually really like bonuses. If only traits did not suck..
Medium is nice too, stamina reduction on CC break is sweet. But again traits..
Potentates is only good for DW, perhaps for a NB? Or DK using the leap0
