Balancing a (non-Wabba) Campaign

Permafrost
So, at the behest of so many cheerful lads in various threads, we poked our head into Wabba during NA primetime. The result was pretty disastrous and it had nothing to do with the players or competition. Every two minutes someone got the "FPS bug" or there was crippling lag. Way too many people.

So we popped over to BT, and while there was a nice population, the balance is wretched (we're DC and have no desire for that).

Is there any movement to try and push a medium-large server and get some competitive balance? Sort of the best of both worlds.

you could pop into chrysamere and help retake the map for DC since EP guested in goldbrand EP to help them get emperor :D. I mean it is balanced as far as 15 vs 8 vs 2 goes.

The Noore has made several suggestions directly to the PvP dev team that when they put in the new '5' campaigns when version 1.3 comes out (currently late july) that for the three vet/non=vet campaigns they do the following:

campaign 1: population locks when all three bars are filled (think wabba - approx 600-800 players per alliance)

campaign 2: population locks when 2 bars are filled (approx 400-500 per alliance)

campaign 3: population locks when 1 bar is filled (approx 200-250 per alliance)

a new campaign would not be added until one campaign was proving that it was sustaining a locked out population on a frequent basis, and the campaign added would be of the same type as the one that was experiencing frequent pop locks

this would allow for folks who love the awesome large scale of wabba to have fun

it would also allow those that enjoy smaller scale AvAvA to have their cake and eat it to

The two here being AD, which is really what Chrysamere needs more of.

I've popped into Auriel's Bow a few times, and it's completely dominated by AD, but a good-sized guild should be able to force some balance into the campaign. AD dominates a few too many campaigns, someone should fix that :D
