Player Join/Part Grouping Lag!

I know there's been a ton of threads on this, but I'm wondering at this point since it hasn't been fixed/addressed that I know of by ZOS, does this mean it's likely some setting on my end? I've tried disabling all addons to see if that fixes it, but it does not.

And it's gotten worse. I can't join groups in Cyrodil anymore or I get an immediate screen freeze and often have to reboot to get out of it due to the aforementioned conditions existing, or wait for an endless amount of time for it to recover. It seems like it's waiting on something on the server side that is synchronously blocking. And due to the recent change with the alt-tabbing in Windows (where it doesn't run in windowed mode as a default full screen, or whatever that change was), what happens is:

1) I join a group
2) Immediate, soul-crushing lag
3) ESO visual screen freezes, but environment sound continues as normal
4) I can alt-tab out BUT the ESO screen stays "locked" as the top screen on my main monitor
5) Opening task manager is pointless because it appears BEHIND the ESO blackness, and I can't do anything with it or navigate to it since ESO's client is locked in the "top" position somehow
6) Right clicking on the app in the taskbar and selecting "close" does nothing - ESO stays where it is
7) I'm basically screwed unless I reboot my computer or wait however long it takes for the lag pocket clears (5+ minutes or longer, if it does at all).

I have two monitors so I can see this happening. I guess I could launch task manager and move it to the other window just in case this happens, but I shouldn't have to do that, and it also still means I can't group or I get lag spiked to death.

So I've given up on grouping for now. Was hoping this would be fixed in the most recent patch but I just got it again. This is with a group of about 10-15 people, nothing overlarge.

It does not seem to be affecting everyone this way since people are obviously still grouping and advertising for groups.

Anyone have any ideas or is this something ZOS can weigh in on? I thought it might be an addon like FTC or something but I have tried disabling everything and it still seems to happen. I don't think it's limited to just me.

Tip: kick offline people any anyone not actually in Cyrodiil. It will reduce join/leave lag for others

Can't do it if I'm not group lead :( But good to know, I can suggest it if that's the case.

This happens more and more often if the large group goes over 4 "groups." Many times, the second that the 17th person is added, I and a bunch of others lag out or crash.

Do not invite anyone who is not in Cyrodiil(The Campaign you're currently in) or else it could potentially lag out a lot of your party, also kick out anyone who goes offline and just reinvite them later.

This has been happening with a freshly-created group with people who are all in Cyrodil too, from my experience. The more group members, the greater the lag spikes when someone joins or parts.

Yes and even if you try to control it by kicking offline people it is not easy when you are in a middle of fight or when you are not the leader.

Yessss...finally others who feel my pain. I thought I was alone. I have the same exact problems and I am getting pissed. What makes it even worse is when the group leader uses the auto invite addons.

For god sake ZOS fix this already.

prior to the last patch we would experience it if one of our group members had joined the group and was not in that campaign

finally we could figure out how to tun in large 24 man groups and not have this game changing lag - pain to monitor, but it was working

since the last patch it doesn't seem to matter (though it is still at its 'worst' when non=same-zone folks join) - last night in Celarus we had to run as 3 separate 8 man groups

Still happening, too, after the last patch. I wish they'd prioritize this, it makes grouping in Cyrodil impossible for me (and others, sounds like). I assume it's doing SOMETHING when people join or leave a group or change areas that is causing the immense lag, especially since it gets greater the more people in the group, so I assume it's sending out a bunch of updates or something to everyone in the group. There's spotty lag that is definitely noticeable while in the group regardless but the massive lag pockets that sometimes disconnect me or cause other weird stuff to happen (See original post) are only when someone joins, and to a lesser degree when someone parts.

I have a fast computer, new nVidia card, 30mbit internet connection, and run the game on max settings, so I don't think it's anything due to speed from my side.

It looks like this will be fixed once we release our next major content update, which we're still planning to do next week. :)
