Not just purple recipes in short supply.

My Lvl 36 sorc has been Lvl 50 prov since sometime around Lvl 8-10... I disremember, but it was forever ago.

I haven't found but one blue Lvl 20 recipe for food in all that time, and that was close to starter area.

I searched religiously through every place I could find all the time until that 'reduced reach' nerf. I'm looking fewer hard to reach places lately, but still looking all the time.

Whats up with the blues being so hard to find, too?
It's not just the purples.
I've found 3 purple drink recipes, but gave those to friends, because... lets face it... drinks alone aint where it's at.

Grahtwood.
Greenshade.
Malabal Tor.
Reaper's March.

Obviously the further out I go the more I have to stock different ingredients to accommodate whatever recipe I hope to find, while still finding/stocking the stuff from my starter area to be able to use the one recipe I DO have.

I am growing weary of stupid crap like this .

I've found two, in Daggerfall Covenent. But none in Aldmeri Dominion or Ebonhear Pact. It's just random.

I found a blue in the 3rd zone of EP and one in the 2nd zone of DC. Agree with above post it is random. Although from memory all three were in the bank in the zone, probably because I always check the containers in the bank.

I also don't think your provisioning skill has anything to do with drops either. I have had next to no provisioning leveling with my characters and have picked up 2 blues and a purple.

Just keep checking everything.

My level 34 Temp has been lvl 50 prov since about the same as yours. She has one level 20's blue recipe and one blue 30s' recipe that she CANNOT find ingredients for and zero level 30+ green recipes. I loot everything all the time so it's not lack of trying on my part.

One of my chars is level 6 vet; the rest between 10-40. So far I have found 3 blue recipes (since early access) across all of them. Just finding recipes seems to be an impossibility & ingredients as mentioned above. More to the point I keep finding the same recipes over & over again (known recipe $:\$ ).

I feel like this illustrates well how fickle the RNG gods are (Shegorath, I imagine!) because I've managed to find several blue vet recipes multiple times, and I just found a redundant (for me) vet 5 purple drink recipe (He's definitely laughing at me - two! two! purple recipes... drinks...! I can even read it in his voice). I have 'em stashed in bank, @scriber on NA server if anyone is interested. xP

I agree that Random is Random, but the random factor itself isn't random.

The degree of random is programed by The Devs.
They SET the random factor.

If stuff is too random, it's because they CHOSE to SET the RNG factor to: (infinity -1).

It they wanted the RNG to be just a little more friendly, all they'd have to do is set the factor to:
(infinity - 1.005).

My Templar is lvl 32 atm and has lvl 50 cooking. I have not found 1 blue recipe since I been lvl'ing him up. Nope, not 1. Thats seriously ridiculous!!! >.< Zenimax gets off on nerfing things until they are to point of being broken. It makes me wonder if they want people to leave the game. Cuz thats what is gunna happen if they keep it up. Nerf = disappointment in almost all situations for the customer! The only nerf I have seen them do that actually needed to be done was changing how the bosses respawned and making it so that you only get treasure once from the boss. Other then that all there nerfs have been stupid crazy. Epic recipes are almost non-existent and blue is very hard to get. Like I said, I'm lvl 32 on my other toon and I have NEVER seen a blue drop for him. Thats fricken broken!!!

2 blue recipes I looted during instanced DC quests. One was a fighters guild with Sees, one a side quest near Westtry. The 1 purple Level 35 recipe, I found at the Wayrest bank trunks. It was Consummate Flank Pie, something like that.

Seems like green recipes are dropping almost as good as when the game first started off though.

I have all the blues upto Vet for my own alliance and picked up most from others. have all the purple ones upto level 35. But none beyond it, the game is random for drops. No motif books for ages then 5 in one night..
