The Madness in Dawnbreaker last night (US)

so last night a single guild managed to take emperor. while i have to commend some of their tactics i have to point out that even before i got off i saw a lot of behavior that can be constituted as an exploit.

Several DKs were using a bug that allows them to "bind" their standard to them and move it with them, and they were using terrain to use more seige engines than the limit allows, using enough distance from the keeps that only one or 2 of what was at least 10+ at all times engines present in the assault actually counted. both of these things are kind of not ok.

however i did see some genuinely clever things being used, they were extremely organized, and using such a large number of NPC fighters were allowing them to easily defend any location they wanted. it also genuinely seemed that the ONLY members were a few templars and alot of Dragon knights spamming Dark Talons and Dk standard, which while sad and proves a Likely Nerf coming to the class in the future proved extremely effective when used to wipe any attempt that would come through the many choke points the guild was intentially setting up.

overall the experience watching them seige a keep with little or no difficulty against a group that was at least 2-4 times their size shows to me a massive imbalance in PVP in terms of things like Mercenarys, Class abilitys, and issues with mechanics designed to keep the game fair. after 2-3 hours of them basically seigeing one location with any attempt to stop them failing due to Dark Talon+Dragon Knight standard spam, i got bored and called it a night...

at present the player who was making the attempt succeeded in becoming emperor, and if the behavior that guild showed in order to get her there is any evidence, that guild will result to any tactic, even ones that clearly exploit unintended mechanics, to keep that player in that position.

the proof of their work is evident right now on Dawnbreaker, a single guild took the campaign with no real opposition...
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

Yeah the Banner is movable with a morph. Unfortunately when you post info like this that you haven't researched it makes me question all your claims.

    Shifting standard = exploit -> 2x /facepalm

Shifting standard allows you to RE-POSITION the banner, not bind it to your character.

In addition, you can only do this RE-POSITION ONCE.

I have USED shifting standard before and know its effects. I also know the visual effect added by Standard of Might is unique to that morph, and these DK were clearly using that Morph. this effect creates fire on the the wings of the top of the standard, a very clear visual effect that is unmistakable.

The listed effect added by shifting standard is "You may move it to a new location" in pratice this allows you to push the ultimate button a second time to move it. BUT THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE AND IT DOES NOT BIND TO THE PLAYER

4 posts and not one actually read the original topic.... that's just pathetic.

I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

I have seen this exploit too. The banner stays on the player like a shouldered weapon and follows him where ever he goes. There is no placing of the banner.

This is one bug, who can be maybe true. What about the X others ? The topic report a lot of bugs who nobody have ever heard about, and this sound funny to me.

    (sorry for my broken english)

i only mentioned 2 bugs, the Sticky standard and the uncounted seige weapons.

i was actually half praising their efforts to take Dawnbreaker in the origonal topic post, which really was a sight to behold, While pointing out the less legitimate things that i honestly considered to be harmful.

Seeing those Brilliantly placed wall of Mage NPCs struck a tear in my eye, even if it was on the other team. Tbh i was astounded how well they were working togther, while i was watching basically everyone on my side just run in one by one to a carefully controlled slaughter. There were lots of DKs yes, but they were taking turns making those powerful breaks. one player with a standard would stop one push and give the next the job untill he could again, almost nothing was wasted or uncontrolled.

The feeling that that guild had control over the fight was clear, and i woke up to the proof of their dedication this morning to see Dawnbreaker having been completely taken over. Likley a result entirely of that guilds efforts.

Too many are just passing this off as another "complaint topic" when it honestly isnt.

Why is that that every time a coordinated group beats a larger group it is because of "a massive imbalance in PVP"?

Not to point out the obvious, but a larger group has the same set of skills and abilities, only more of it, as the smaller group.

So Dawnbreaker AD PvE zerg PvP wannabes actually had to PvP on that campaign? The massive 1 sided zerg thats always spamming in chat to form 50 man hunting parties when ever 1 or 2 enemy players show up on the map? The same campaign thats always "5 people assaulting a keep, need all available players at this keep!" And now you're calling for a class nerf because youre finally figuring out that youre not as good at PvP as you thought?

    The horror.

you know what.. im done defending something that people are commenting on without even taking the time to read.

its sad that there are so many illiterate people online.. but i guess that's just how things are.

Again, Kudos to the guild that took Dawnbreaker and Congrats to the current emperor.

There are only like 5 "real" Dawnbreaker AD players in the evening. The rest are DC alts. And a few of the AD big name people are DC alts which is just sad. People log on their alts to take castles, then back to their DC characters to get Emperorship.

There is a lot people who aren't english native, so the more complex your explaination is, the less people will understand (wich is maybe my case since It seems I didn't clearly understand the problem). Maybe can you try with more simple words ?

I have to say, the carrying the banner I have not come across that one, or at least not noticed it.
The placing the siege far away, I think this should not count as an exploit, but perhaps they should count as siege on a keep so long as they are capable of hitting the keep.

But I do have to say there are a number of guilds with skilled players who resort to using exploits in order to achieve the results they want.
And the sad thing is I enjoy playing against them until they exploit, I enjoy playing against that DK every now and then that just seems to be on par with an emperor.
Its when they use exploits like the caltrops bug, that's what rustles me.

So if you are skilled, in a coordinated guild and know your stuff, I would love to stand against you, but when you use an exploit, it makes me sad that you think you need that. And it makes me sad that I have to report you.
