Deconstructing to level your clothing/woodwork?

I've heard if you DC stuff you get from quests or other players' craft gives you more xp. Can I DC ones I made on another character for the extra xp ?

You can but the xp gain is the same as if you made it on your main. If it's made by a character on another account you get 7x the xp than deconning items made by you or an alt.

Did they change that? I'm pretty sure it was character based, not account based

Where did you get that number? It's a percentage increase, depending on the amount of material used (i.e., the level), but nothing even close to 700%. Maybe 2x-4x at the most, and the percentage of gain is per mat, but decreases past a certain point, so higher level doesn't produce XP as efficiently. And making by alt A and deconstructing by alt B gets you the same boost as if A and B were separate players; this was established long ago.

Fortunately, these things are easily tested.

Not true, you get the same item XP by deconstructing an item made by an alt as another player or separate account which is 2-3 times the item XP that you get when you deconstruct items you make on the same character. Tested thoroughly.
