Ok so alchemy... where are my poison!

You provide us tons of very cool toxic flora effect yet we cant even create poison to use on weapon with them because all we can do is healing pot.. is that missing content or just a bad joke because I would like to make poisons of ravage health paralisis etc but im stuck with health pot when I already heal for 60% of the critical strike I do as a freaking bow crit spamming maniac :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This alone could provide the dps physical weapon lack over magic yet you made it so we can only craft drinkable potion with benefit and loss rather then give us the ability to create both poison for maximum negative and potion for maximum positive?

first thing first snakeblood is somewhat uncomplete. It should reduce or remove the beneficial effect of a poison and remove the detrimental effect of a potion. Instead It just remove the detrimental of a potion and even then limit the number of available property. I'm not running alchemy so I can create health pot when I can just farm a boss or a dungeon and end up with 100 of them im running it so I can create deadly mixture I can apply on my arrow.

By all that is sacred make nightblade 20% alchemy use meaningfull in the class and allow the creation of poisons. This alone would already give a purpose to alchemy as a craft because right now its totally useless

Poison idea? well the very idea of venom that can damage heatlh over time cause magicka/endurance degen or harm a foe ability to cause critical strike or weapon damage for a small time already is good. You would all have to be wary of behing empoisoned in pvp and character like bosmer and argonian who got natural resistance to those effect would become interesting choice. How I long to see an ambushing Nightblade sneaking up on the mage breaking his magicka and stamina with a dangerous venom in a skyrim fashion while going for the kill... Its all in the surprise lets say you cant apply a venom more then once every minute but it would still be a cool effect in battle and an exelent reason to lvl alchemy for. Archery and stealth melee would become interesting build afterward as they can sneak up on their foe and apply their poison. So here is why wed need poison in this game.

1. Magicka ability got better damage and aoe

Yea it looks crazy but its true physical damage is sub par as it depends on weapon damage and stamina but also because by its very nature it isn't made to hit just as high as magic.

2. Poison brings great interest to stealth play and physical weaponry

physical damage weapon finaly get to be usefull in battle as you can apply vials of poison with them for a serious damage boost

3. Poison is the best friend of a dark stealth themed character
What kind of failure assassin doesn't poison his weapon before strikes? What kind of woodland hunter doesn't envenom his arrow tip. while some bow ability do cause poison damage I think adding alchemy to the recipe could provide the spec a very necessary damage boost.

4. Why does my race got poison resilience

Lets face it bosmer and argonian poison resistance is the most useless bonus a race can have when close to no ability in the game cause such damage save for weapon enchant and a few bow move. Worse is that poison behing progressive dps is totally useless in a skill fashion as it is. DOT is currently sub par but a free poison flask every 30 second could mean everything in a battle when that flask can weaken deplete or lay ruin to an enemy resource, this also brings counter play to WW after they are buffed.

5. Hey the craft doesn't serve any purpose.

Do you seriously think ill go 50 lvl in a crafting just for a potion that has a 10 second effect or a healing pot? If the effect lasted like between 10 to 30 second depending on alchemy level id understand but I aint gunna lvl potion crafting for a 13 second increase to my critical strike. Potion crafted out from alchemist needs to stand out as valuable items to their owner and not just a replacement to dungeon healing pot you find all over the place x.x

    You did a very long post, so I feel obliged to post and tell you that poison crafting is a confirmed on the to do list.

    As u can see, there are already the needed well balanced herbs for the poisons, the only thing thats missing is a mechanic to get it on the weapon.

    Most likely they come with introduction of the Thiefguild and Dark Brotherhood.

    The Plans for Poisons were confirmed in some of the Q&A before gamerelease.
