Do you think Patch 1.1 will be released on Thursday?

After realizing the game is still currently showing Patch 1.7 (not 1.8 or 1.9) do you still think its likely Patch 1.1 will release on Thursday. Most companies do not skip patch updates, its chronological for a reason. So what's your thoughts? Wouldn't we be notified that a big update was releasing?

This also begs the question of bots. I understand that sometimes a company will not have an update. But in light of the bot infestation you would think they would take down the server to implement more measures to curb bots. Last week we experienced longer then usual downtime, supposedly do to the implementation of measures to curb bots. Why not the same measures this week? Sometimes perception is reality, and it seems ZENIMAX is okay with that by not being transparent in their discussions and disclosures.

If by chance we don't get patch 1.1 this week or any patch, what impressions will that leave?

No impression whatsoever, so used to them lie and being incompetent - my opinion about them could not possibly be any lower. lol.

I sure hope so, but it seems that it's taken longer than they expected because of botting. What they should do is just let us handle taking care of em' public zonal hangings each week. It should seriously be somehow implemented into the bounty system haha, I mean they can't fix botting so why not turn it over to the community somehow..

what measures? you think they can create an algorithm to identify bots with 100% accuracy and no false positives in a week's time?

The only game dev who managed that needed many years of anti botting techniques and experience.

Sorry to shatter your hope but this game will probably die before they ever get rid of bots so get used to them

Those down times are scheduled so they can take advantage of them if they have an update ready and deem it worth taking the servers down for said updates.

Nothing at all can be determined one way or another if they don't take them. Could be they weren't done, could be a last minute issue, could be they deemed the changes too small for a server take down and will wrap them into the next, could be the guy that makes the coffee took the day off. Could be anything--it makes about as much sense as reading tea leaves to try to make something out of it.

Regardless if there measures are effective or not, to not even try could leave a bad taste in the gamer's mouth. Even though many still support this game, it seems we stand united on one front... Bots. Zenimax said they would listen to its consumer post-launch about the issues that need addressing. Yet after unanimous consensus it seems the community feels like Zenimax is not doing enough. Like I said perception Is sometimes reality, Zenimax is not doing enough in the eyes of the community; which whether true or not leaves the impression they don't care enough!

They dont have to do a 1.09 and could easily go to 1.1.2.

However, I doubt they are going to launch craglorn Thursday, would wager if they were they would be announcing that to calm some people. Maybe next week. . . .

I would figure they would give some kind of a notice before releasing such a big update. That being said, it being delayed could only be a good thing as it gives them longer to work on that content plus more time to work on improving others.

@clockstopper97eb17_ESO‌ well like I said it can't be "fixed" so why not give players a better way of at least seeking out bots and getting them even temporarily banned somehow, until they can look at records and make a final decision or something. I mean if it's this bad you have to fight fire with fire here

So if not this week or next, when does the conversation steer towards incompetence. This is not a F2P game, you know? I mean they had the choice, and they chose Subscription. If this game was F2P do you think they would have received as much backlash? Is it because they are charging a subscription that people perceive this game as being rushed and unfinished?

Most likely release date is June 5th imho. That leaves just enough time for people to try it out during their first month of subscription (so nobody can claim they paid for nothing) while still forcing everybody who seriously wants to explore Craglorn to resubscribe.

The improvements seem to be coming with 1.1, not before. So by delaying that, they are delaying everything else. When is a delay too long for subscribers?
  • stevenpotter321b14_ESO
I would say that if they rushed Craglorn and it too is a buggy mess, that would defeat the purpose of putting it out to begin with. If you do not want to pay for the game as it stands, don't pay for it. There are a lot of games that do not require a sub. However, you are kidding yourself if you think F2P will reduce forum crying.

If that's the case, wouldn't that leave the impression that it wasn't delayed for quality, but delayed for retention purposes? If so, are we as a community going to allow those practices in the future?

What exactly are "we as a community" going to do to disallow those practices?? Complain on the forums? Because that seems to be working so well for other issues (bots, broken nightblades, PvP exploits, etc.)...

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

Craglorn is coming with the very next patch. That's my call based on a couple things I've seen. Jess mentioned during the trial stream that an announcement would be this week. It has also been posted that the fix for the caltrops will come shortly after the Craglorn patch. That makes no sense even from a cynical viewpoint, unless Craglorn was coming too soon to squeeze the hot fix in.

By the end of the week we'll see if I'm wrong or not.

even if it was F2P you would still get backlash cause F2P is not ever free. You still dump money from cash shops into the game so it gives people the entitlement to say they invested money and want a product.

    No chance at all.

The Craglorn update will more than likely be announced when it's ready.

I doubt we'll see 1.1 before the start of June.

If its not released by the end of my first paid month...
Pushing back important fixes to a new content patch is the dumbest most idiotic thing any mmo company on earth could ever possibly do.

Actually, patches on live servers will quite often skip a strict numerical order. Blizzard certainly does this with World of Warcraft. You can assume that the missed patches were internal-only, not for release.

This doesn't mean I'm guessing that Thursday will be the day that 1.1 goes live, mind you. I'm just sayin'.
