Yesterday I decided to go back to the starter zone in AD to see

A) how many new toons very traversing the area
b) which weapon sets and classes where being created

It was very enlightening approx. Guess here but I would say that 8 of 10 toons where all using one variation of staff with the other 2 being either 2hd or DW

Guess its all those if you don't use staff you ain't good character builds

My AD happens to use the staffs. However, my EP alt uses Bows and sword/shield. My DC alt uses 2 handed. I think they all work as decent builds, there's just different strategies for each... My one regret might be that my two-handed melee fighter doesn't have much in the way of handy healing skills... Def going to need a healer friend in DC eventually

When I started out in EP, it seemed like 3/4th's of the players were archers. I think it really depends on the alliance. AD and DC are probably going to attract magic users, EP is going to attract more ranger types.

Further throughout this one's travels in the DC world, as that's where I have settled my allegiance, I seem to see mostly restro staff and sword and shield, with, occasionally, a bow and maybe dual wield. I rarely see two handed weapons.

I will mention, though I'm only in my mid-20's and don't have experience with it yet, according to the forums, the best veteran rank build, with any class, is a restro/destruction staff combo. Hopefully this imbalance will be addressed.

Staff is just too good for mobs, can't blame anyone really lol. I try and use DW on my DK though and keep my staff on second set just incase.
