Where to find purple provisioning recipes???

I'm VR6 now and not only do I rarely see recipes drop at all anymore, I have never seen a purple one drop. I know they exist because there are people selling the food.

Would anyone who actually knows (not guessing) be willing to share where to get level 45+ purple recipes? I realize it will require a lot of luck and probably hours of farming... I'd just like to be in the right area!

My primary faction is AD. I have been told that Coldharbour is the place to go but haven't really found a good place with lots of furniture or urns so if anyone knows a good place or if I'm completely in the wrong area, I'd appreciate a heads up!

Unless you plan on "Boiled Lock Pick Surprise", farming for purple recipes specifically is going to be a tough one.

Look forward to seeing suggestions here myself.

Only ones I have found were from early access before the first of many "fixes" to drops being related to character level/zone. VR level recipes should not have been found in the starting cities by level 3 mules, kinda glad they fixed that.

I will also be very glad to hear if anyone has had any luck regarding this; have yet to find a purple recipe at any level! We might have to wait for the 1.1 patch for Provisioning to be viable in the VR area anyway. I still snarf my Fortified Crab Cakes from level 50. Tasty, though.

Blue recipes are infrequent, but usually in either wardrobes, dressers, nightstands, desks, urns, or backpacks (as you know, I'm sure). Sometimes enemies drop them as well. I have to wonder if there's such a thing as a legendary recipe. Why can't we have our hunk of French bread and a glass of wine at the same time anyway? That would be a great skill to add to Provisioning.

I have not found a purple recipe in well over a month and many, many levels ago. I have not found that many blue recipes either in the past week or so in my VR zones. I would think I should stumble upon a blue recipe every 10 hours played. I should find a purple recipe every 50 hours played. Neither of those are happening right now.

I have yet to find one and have played probably 1000 hours. Have a few good blue ones and a new friend who will make purple lvl 35 if i give him the ingredients - we share his efforts. Wish I could find some - have a few Vet 5 level ones from my guild...

I found one or two before the nerfs, though they're useless since they're way too low level for me now. Barely find any blues now either. Provisioners are screwed by the botnerfs.

Not just that but in the Vet areas there are less things to open because the game sets most bits as empty. That alone can reduce your chances to find something. Given if something is found 1 in 1000 times of looking if you then take away hundreds of search locations it makes finding them a tad harder.

It's quite simple, you don't. The fact that ZoS decided to nerf drop rates of an already ABSURDLY low drop rate (epic prov recipes) is just beyond me. Or maybe they just want a massive gold sink in the game, they have been going (pre-nerf) for 30K/recipe, that's assuming it isn't the same damn one everyone seems to have for sale, the +6 regen to all drink. So yeah, gl to anyone who wants to find an epic recipe, especially now lol.

I dont care about purple recipes. Buff they give much lower then blue recipes of same level...

As a 50 provisioner I'm always on the lookout for receipes I dont have and the drop rate being lowered recently definately makes it harder to find em, of course I get a lot less dupe green junk filling my bags now too, and when I do get a blue receipe drop it somehow will always be the one I already have. I have all the level 35 blue and purple food receipes and most of the drinks for example, of course when I left that zone and moved into the next hoping to start finding the level 40 food receipes I found the greens right away, never a single blue or purple. I'm now level 47 and bangkorai just keeps giving me the same damn level 45 blue I have, even though I'm missing all the rest for that level as well as all level 50 receipes. Sillyness.

Aren't the purple recipes only meant to drop in group dungeons now ? Am sure I read they were never meant to spawn in drawers etc.

Do you know? If recipes were a goldsink you would buy them from vendors not players, as goldsinks are supposed to remove gold from the game.

I have been wondering about this myself. I have not seen an epic recipe since my first leveling character back in early access. It was a lvl 30ish beverage recipe. I have not seen another one since and I'm almost VR9. I loot containers religiously. I have farmed containers. I can't even find one for sale in the 3 trading guilds I'm in. I think it says something about the scarcity if 3 large guilds with 500+ members each that are focused on trading don't have *any* vet rank, epic quality recipes..ever.

Do they only drop in vet dungeons or something?

I got one just the other day, my first purp recipe drop, in a solo dungeon. I think I got it in a barrel maybe an earn I don't remember I was too excited when I saw purple text. It was in an early level 30's solo dungeon.

They nerfed the drop rate so badly after the first few days, they're non-existent now. Offer 100k or 1 million gold, you'll never find one for sale.

A .000000001% drop rate just doesn't work.

I got the 35 Purple as well, and haven't seen a single one since, nor have I seen one for sale, and I furniture-hunted for all my own motifs (1-14), so you can imagine how many loots that is.

How can they have so many purple recipes and yet I know 1 person in the entire game who found one? I know they are supposed to be hard to find, but at VR7 I would think I should have found one. Did the bots take them all? lol

That is interesting. As far as I know, only one member of my Guild has ever looted a purple VR recipe, Consummate Honey Pudding. I know people on my friends list that have looted 20+ Daedric & Ancient Elf motifs, but not a single purple recipe. These folks farm like crazy (when you see xxxx has logged on, xxxx has logged off for about 4 hours, lol). Purple Vet level recipes have to be the rarest items in the game.

I have only found 1 purple recipe since early release and that was about three weeks ago. It was also only a level 35 recipe. The sad thing is I wasn't even in a level 30ish zone when it dropped. I was in a starter zone (Auridon) and doing my normal inventory management when it popped in one of the chests at the bank. (A chest and not a cabinet)

I can't say that in my time in the game I have seen anyone post in zone chat that they either looted the recipe or had one for sell since Early Access.

Hell, had I known then what I know now I would have done the "logout and login" cheat just to refresh the containers and increase the likelyhood of gettign those recipes then.

But of course who knew the drop rate would go from "one a day" to nonexistent.

I looted the Purple Vr5 One two days ago from a desk in the 3rd and final zone of the three alliances.

its a drink one think the stats are 8 to all stats for one hour
I was shocked to loot it just wish it was food and not a drink of well.

They could raise the drop rate but then bound them. I mean whats the point on selling a purple one for 100k if then you cant sell what you make. I mean no one buys them.

I found a purple very early on, level 3. I have looted 10xe^54 times since, and have not seen another purple recipe. My doctor has advised me to quit looting as he fears I'll suffer a heart attack if I ever do happen to loot one.

So far, I have personally found a level 35, and a level 50 consummate food recipe. I was lucky enough to find some poor soul that posted a V5 purple drink recipe for 9 gold in a guild store. (Tried to look the guy up to offer him more cash for it, couldnt find the name of the guy I bought it from. I really want a more robust mail message system for purchases / sales )

I will come back later tonight when I am home to update this with the exact name of the recipe, but I looted a purple recipe yesterday in Alik'r Desert. I was in the town where the harbor is (Starting area for this zone) and I was completing those around town quests. Was in an Inn or a Bar and I found the recipe in a large sack behind the counter. I linked it in chat "Oh look what I just found!" and instantly got /tell bombed with offers from 10k-20k. I am keeping it.

What level were you and what level is the recipe?

Just picked up a purple sparkling spring which is a rank 3 in a trunk in the bank in Windhelm. Lvl 29 character only lvl 3 provisioning skill.

This is the epic provisioning recipe I found in the Desert, along with two blues at the same Inn (not during the same visit obviously). Everytime I log in, I visit all the Inns and Houses and check the backpacks.
