Greetings and salutations members of the Elder Scrolls Online community,
I wanted to make a thread addressing the ability of the current emperor being able to maintain their passives without using the "Emperor" title or wearing the Emperor's Regalia.
I don't know where others stand on this, but I find this to be somewhat undesirable. With the passives the emperor does have, he/she more or less becomes the equivalent of a raid boss, in the right hands.
The issue then arises they are able to retain these abilities without wearing the emperor's attire or having the title suggesting who they are. Obviously, their name can be seen on the PvP Leaderboard, but there is a loss of balance.
The Emperor's Regalia is easily recognizable, especially if you see this player on the field. Given how powerful the emperor is, I believe there needs to be a system that makes it rather easy to recognize if they are in the area.
This is a balancing mechanism of sorts, so you aren't all of the sudden bombed without realizing what happened. These players shouldn't be able to hide their identities. It should be obvious who they are and they should be forced to wear their rank and status proudly.
Otherwise, if they do not wear the regalia and the title, I feel they should at best only retain the former emperor passives. The emperor is just to powerful, in my opinion, having the capacity to not wear the costume and not use the title, more or less hiding his/her identity.
What are the thoughts of the community on this? Do you believe the emperor should be able to hide their identity and retain the current emperor passives? Or do you believe they need to make their presence known in order to balance their powerful passives?
Regards,
