Templar "" Smart Healing

My party members and I have died enough times to write about this. First I understand you needed this system for the console. Personally I don't like it but there are some things that can be done to help make it more bearable. If you could introduce sliders to customize these values (or an add-on) that would be ideal. However I can understand the level of difficultly as well as resources this may add. So I am going to propose a new default.

Here are the rules I propose priority should be from top to bottom
  1. If Caster is less than 25%: Heal Caster
  2. If Caster is less than 75% and difference between lowest party member is less than 25%: Heal Caster
  3. If Caster is less than 75% and difference between lowest party member is more than 25%: Heal Party Member
  4. If Caster is more than 75% and difference between lowest party member is more than 10%: Heal Party Member
  5. If Caster is more than 75% and difference between nearby ally is more than 50%: Heal Ally
  6. If Caster is more than 75% but less than 100%: Heal Caster
  7. If Caster is 100% and party members are 100% but nearby ally is less than 100%: Heal Ally
I understand this may be a technical description so lets go over some examples.

For these examples you will be the Templar and you're in a group.
  • Your health is 80% your party members health is 60%. The heal goes to your party member.
  • Your health is 80% your party members health is 100%. A nearby ally is at 10%. The heal goes to the nearby ally.
  • Your health is 50% your party members health is 50%. A nearby ally is at 10%. The heal goes to the caster.
  • Your health is 20% your party members health is 5%. A nearby ally is at 1%. The heal goes to the caster.

The idea behind this is that if the healer dies the team dies and if you're not grouped with someone you probably don't want to heal them. Other healers are free to weigh in if you're not a healer I could see how you wouldn't want this to change.

Have you tried rerolling to a Sorcerer or Dragonknight?
Templars do more dps than DK's.

I want to know why ESO even adda all this confusing stuff to heals? Just have small heal, medium heal, larger heal, and a cure or debuff...why add all this confusing memorizing adds to spell heals? All games that tried to do this and or get rid of the "Holy Trinity," went to F2P...ALL of them, save GW2, but they have always been. Learn. This is why EQ and EQII has survived $14.99 for a two decades...K.I.S.S.

There are different heals for every situation, and you should have no trouble forcing a heal to yourself or to another ally based on choosing the right heal. It sounds like you need to figure out which heals to be using and when rather than change the targeting system itself.

I've never had this issue, as the Templar standard heal skill as well as others automatically targets the lowest health person.

I've never been in a situation where we are all at less than full health, and I am less than the rest and had not received healing.

I will say this- in dire situations, I usually pop two heals back to back to ensure we are all recovered to maximum. Perhaps this is why it goes unnoticed?

    Yes to this.

But, you are wasting your time with ZOS.
They have no desire to listen to their customers.
Because THEY know what is best for you!
These are amateur developers and you will get nothing from them.

Just let me control who I heal, thx. I've been capable of doing this for a decade of MMO healing I think you can trust me to still do this, ZOS. /grumpy
