Constantly upgrading and advancing your character is what gives most MMO's if not all, any longevity

MMOs with crappy storylines and gameplay, sure. But since gear has less impact than skill in ESO, endgame isn't just about getting gear.
Im powerful enough as it is. The reason you think you get weaker leveling up is probably because you spam one or two specials and arent flexible enough with your build and playstyle while tackling upper level content. Eventually you get to the point where you cant just run up and DPS something down in 2 seconds, and you may have to think.
I see this thread as just "give me awesome stats on gear so I dont have to do that thinking stuff."
No.
Im sorry to break it to you but if this game is strictly "enjoy the story" not many people are going to be paying $15 a month to watch a movie slowly unfold through monthly(if that) patches, MMO's require a lot more then thatIm powerful enough as it is. I've bolded the focus of ESO for you. This is not new; the developers said in many interviews over the past year or so that they didn't want the game to become a gear hunt, which is what happens when stats on gear become a significant part of your character's build.
As it stands, you can use the gear stats (esp. those from set items) to add flavor to your character, but you need to focus on character stats and skill selection for the basis. This is exactly what I prefer.
Future gear updates should focus on cosmetics (more motifs, specialized looks for set items) and stat upgrade consistent with the current and future leveling curve.
I come from SWTOR and am used to minmaxing for both pve and pvp, so the ESO way to do things is very simplified for me. I've not been too worried about gear and stats yet, as long as my gear is according to my level (atm I'm VR7) and stats are not totally screwed up. But I do find I'm waaaay below on max health, like 1600/2400 atm because I've been maxing out magicka to be able to actually heal in master dungeons on my nord templar. So I'm wondering how to fix all those stats to the fullest at VR10/Craglorn, because you only have the glyph and gear combination really.

The old one had 100 armor and 10 health, the new one 110 armor and 11 health. That is in no ways interresting. Give us a little more choice. Adding more class specific sets would be a nice thing.
The worst thing for me is the soft caps. When people are gonna have good gear from craglorn and use the best buffs i think almost all characters can be soft capped in most stats. Meaning most characters will effectively become the same, ofcourse varied by the skills on their bar.
The soft caps are by far the biggest annoyance for me. It pains me that i have a ability like Spiked Armor that looks amazing, but is not worth equipping because of the soft caps.
