Transparent box around the character

Hi all! Has anyone seen such an artifact? I get it very often in dungeons, but never in open world. I tried tweaking setting and updating drivers, but seen no improvements. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I use Sony Vaio E15 laptop with these specs:
CPU - i7 - 3632QM
RAM - 8 GB
Video - ATI Radeon 7650M, 2 GB

Are you by chance running any add-ons? If so, have you tried disabling the add-ons to see if doing so resolves the issue?

Thanks for the reply. I am using quite a few addons but it started well before I started using any. I've tried disabling them but to no use.

I've actually seen that sort of thing a lot. I use a lot of add-ons, but I remember seeing it before I had add-ons as well. I haven't tried to do anything on my end to fix it though because it hasn't been bothering me. I am a bit curious about what is happening though.

Hi guys! I've done some more observations and this is what I've found out - the box appears when view is obstructed by trees or when in a hazy/smoky/foggy environment. Look at these screenshots. It's taken in one of the public dungeons in Eastmarch. On the first we see the character unobstructed and there's no box around. Then we look through leaves of a tree and here it is!

Any ideas?

Looks like one of the textures is not loading correctly. When running OpenGL you get a box around the character when it rains which is similar due to a missing SPLASH texture in correctly in game data.

So maybe corruption or missing data. Have you tried a Repair or failing that a Reinstall which may correct it if something is missing/ corrupt.

Yeah, I've tried Repair and reinstalled once as well and just recently installed EU version (I live in Australia and NA maintenance times fall on prime hours) and it's the same.

I've seen there was an add-on that allows you to tweak some DirectX settings such as version used and some other options. I might try that and see what happens.

its a very very long story friend. basicly it all started with the addon nerfs and thier refusal to disable addons. and its problems are and will grow. lots of cheats and bad things ive seen in the addons that they promised would not happen. long story its been a long time comin since i think around 2012 in the betas
