I would like to add that I think it should allow the current Emperor to be able to be crowned more than once for up to 24 hours at least so that they get a chance to experience it for at least a part of the day if the keeps are taken back quickly.
edit: The more I think about it though I would be afraid of non-stop Emperor swapping then. Not sure I like that idea.
Am I correct in assuming that your crown was taken by somebody of your own alliance?
Otherwise there is nothing wrong with it.

Basically Emperor trading. Which is frowned upon.

It's like you hold them responsible for every unpleasant situation you had to deal with. And you say you won't compete anymore like you are trying to spite them. Why should they care? What is the logic behind that letter? Is there some context that puts this in perspective or I just read a random banter with no reasonable thought?
Automatic message telling you how you lost your throne --> get mad at develpers... ???

I also think that if they keep these campaigns as long as there are, and in their current state, that emperorship should only last maybe 7 days tops then pass down to the next highest on your side.

erm - it was humor - the letter wasn't addressed to ZOS or the DEVS, it was addressed to the Elders of the Council of the Empire
that i enjoyed my time as emperor should be self evident if you read the comments in THAT post DIRECTLY BELOW the letter

lol i like it
perhaps a 'graveyard' where all former emperors have their own gravestone
or like some kind of a memorial obelisk where emperors and how long they reigned for are listed
