XP in veteran content

I was level 49 when I beat Molag Bal and got sent to start on veteran content. I don't seem to be getting much xp from quests or mobs though to get to 50.
Do I need to grind mobs in Coldharbor for this?

✭✭✭I would definitely battle mobs in Coldharbour until you reach 50/VR1. You will gain more XP and they are easier to kill. The mobs in the VR zones offer very little XP and they are much more deadly and difficult.Edited by LonePirate on 14 May 2014 19:252 -

Definitely this. I found the zombies near the alchemy lab quest in Coldharbour to be particularly useful for that.

✭✭✭Another benefit to grinding the level 50 mobs in Coldharbour is the level 50 loot they drop. There is no stat difference between level 50 armor/weapons and heir VR1 counterparts.1
