Frustrated and Bored..PvP

I like PvP in this game. What I don't like is when it turns to PvWall. Taking a keep is fun the first 10 times. After that it feels like a waiting game till I actually get some pvp again.

I honestly think this games pvp scene would thrive with another pvp option. The amount of down time in cyrodiil is just too much...I don't want to play for 2 hours and experience around 45 minutes of in combat time. I'm a huge pvper, one of my favorite aspects in MMO's. After every play session in Cyrodiil I log off wanting more pvp.. and less running around an empty zone looking for small fights that really mean nothing.

Another issue is that there is never a winner in the current pvp system. I pvp for 2 hours, log off for another two and the zergs are still fighting between the same two keeps...Guess they are happy farming AP..The most worthless in game currency.

There are currently no rewards in pvp...Buying gear with AP is a fools game. Go spend the 30k gold for your armor set and upgrade it. You'll get the full epic set much faster then if you pvped. The only thing to spend AP on is Rings and Necks since you can't upgrade those with any crafting system. Mute point when talking about my v10 character who is soft capping tons of stats including armor with zero heavy armor equipped...That's cool right? Brings up another point of Heavy armor being worthless. If anyone would like to challenge me on my thoughts and theories on how heavy armor is worthless in pvp, I'd like to promptly destroy you. Enjoy your block reduc cost and 5% more healing. I'll take stealth increase, crit on my weapon attacks and my melee spells (Who the hell knows why whip is working off of weapon crit instead of spell), oh and stam regeneration. Oh yeah...I'll soft cap armor and spell resistance AND HP to boot...

So now I find myself at the point where I can go log on and pvp simply just to hunt down small scale encounters (the pvp in this game I enjoy) or go stand in front of a keep and really have no impact on the battle. Not that it matters though because I don't even care who wins....I'm loosing the desire to force the pvp I want out of this game. I like Cyrodiil it has some great aspects and when I want that type of experience I'll go there. But I want Options! Options are something people really expect in MMO's today.

What I'd like to see is an RvRvR battleground with a resource node aspect similar to WoW's AB. I'd like to see it have a 3 hour duration where players can come and go. I think with a long distances between nodes you could create an experience that rewards strategy and planning. The main goal for this battleground would be to create and provoke small scale encounters since that is what this game is lacking. Also since there is a duration you would actually feel like your alliance came together to win. Now it feels like"oh we took the keep, glad I play when my Alliance zerg plays." I have my ideas on how'd I design this feature to complete those goals, but I'll leave that for the ESO devs. I actually drafted up a whole battleground idea last night but with a layout and all, but decided whats the point...ZoS is doing the old school pvp thing...Old ideas, Old experiences, Old systems, Old sub numbers...

Edit: After thinking on it for a little. I think Cyrodill just needs to be fleshed out more. I was once told by an extremely veteran software developer: Iteration is a responsible path to progression.

Give me daily quest that force me to explore Cyrodiil. I can find small scale pvp here.

Create more things around the map to encourage people to branch off the roads.
Off the top of my own damn head.

Siege workshops: these would be scattered around cyrodiil the more workshops your alliance controls that more dmg their siege weapons do.

Raiding outpost: these would be scattered around the zone your alliance can capture them to increase your alliance stats when around an enemy keep under attack.

Armories / stone masons: Capture these points to increase your alliances NPC's stats and Keep wall health.

These types of features would fill in some of the gaps that Cyrodiil is missing.

Super rant. Not a ton of structure, but I'm just so damn frustrated because I want this game to thrive!

Pretty disappointed to this game has such great mechanics for PvP and we hardly get to enjoy it.

Pretty bleh that we won't get duels or any structured PvP until the imperial city is done.

Shows how technical ESO combat can be but honestly all these encounters for this 13 minute video probably took over 10 hours to get.
