"A Serial Killer in Evermore" (or "A Bot Killer in Bangkorai")

There seem to have been a rash of bizarre murders in Bangkorai, striking fear into the hearts of all who thought of the city of Evermore as a safe haven in a world of dangerous foes. Whoever this dastardly killer is, he has one specific calling card.

He always leaves the bodies of his kills in front of the Evermore bank.

My first encounter with this fiend came only a few days ago when I discovered his grisly work. His victim had clearly been trying to run for the safety of the bank, fleeing from his killer, but to no avail. The murderer killed him AND his horse, and left the two sprawled across the steps of the bank.

Was this a sign that the Dark Brotherhood was loose and making its presence known? I shuddered at the implications and continued on my way.

The city guard eventually cleaned up the mess, but this was not the end. Only yesterday, while walking that same quiet street in the dark of night, I stumbled across of this vile fiend's victims.

I wondered how this fresh, young player had met such an ignominious fate. What had brought him all the way from the tranquility of Glenumbra to the werewolf and vampire haunted forest/desert of Bangkorai, especially when he was so new to the world and its ways and dangers? What had drawn the attention of the foul monster that had killed him? The victim's inexperience? Lack of level appropriate gear? The "gold spammer account"-type character name?

Then I realized that the first kill must have been a test run. That this was this dark angel's true plan. In that moment I could see more deaths; more bodies. More low level characters with gold spammer names murdered before they had a chance to set up their farms or bots, their corpses dropped in front of the bank of Evermore as a warning to others.

And if that's his plan, I can't wait to see the bodies stacked like cord wood.

Great report on the (yet unsolved?) murder cases.
This would explain, why I don't see spammers anymore.

However, one month after the Evermore incidents I stumbled upon a dead player on a horse near Wind's Keep in Stormhaven:

I didn't think much about it at that time and suspected bandits, although I wondered how they managed this kill and why they didn't steal the horse as it seemed to be doing fine, despite the dead rider.

However when I came upon your report today (while actually searching for sightings of werewolves in Bangkorai) it dawned on me, that this might have been a murder by the (seemingly) daggerfall based assailant.

Do you think this might be "the dark angel's" doing? In the test run the murderer may have panicked and killed the horse too. But the crime scene I came across did seem to have been arranged by a more experienced hand.

The manner in which the body is placed on the horse would suggest the body reached rigor mortis state before being placed on the horse.

I shudder to think the assassin might have been sitting on the horse using some kind of illusion magic while holding on to the body for transport. And when I suddenly turned up he/she halted the horse and just waited patiently for me to pass by, looking me straight into the eyes.
