I'm not sure if the damage on it is good or not however the fact more then half the enemies you face are immune to bleeds makes it garbage. Your better off using a great sword every time for the flat 5% damage. Now to what it should be replaced with either an attack speed boost or maybe even crit.

Bleeds in this game are just terrible with the amount of undead who are immune to bleeds.

And the 2H mace armor reduction DOES NOT SCALE.

Seriously, you see nobody either in dual wield or 2H use axes/maces unless it's just for flavor. Mainly because DoT's in this game don't stack and are weak, and maces have too many niche requirements to be useful.

I was just thinking this re: axe and mace. It's kinda depressing in that regard.

Maybe a healing debuff, a chance to disorient/off-balance, increased crit damage, scaling armor debuff, etc.

Even though I preferentially use 2H axes for flavor, it kills me to get the message "Target is immune to bleed effects" all the time knowing I could be doing a flat % more damage with a sword. The bleed and armor reduction are great in concept, but somewhat lacking in practicality compared to a flat damage increase.

Weapon attacks and abilities in general could use some loving. In regards to the axe bleed passives, it would be nice if they had some stacking.

well, the entire Heavy Weapons passive isn't a huge deal outside of fighting bosses, IMO. but vs mobs that DO bleed (every boss mob regardless of whether or not it's undead) , the bleed evens out to a 5% damage increase. i don't really think it needs any adjusting at all, sword gets a nice buff vs bleed immune mobs but fights against those mobs are generally brief as they're just quest content.

I sort of got accustomed to Battle-axe not doing Bleeding damage because I use only the refined and enchanted sort... however, the almost constant message on the UI kills me.

    Agree.

Though the entire two handed line is just plain worthless in the difficult veteran content anyways. Really needs a overhaul.

Most other rpgs give axes either extra crit, or extra damage on crits.

Bleed doesn't really fit their theme imo. The are more of a bludgeoning weapon, swords and dagger are far more likely to cause bleeding.

Mace does not need to scale as mobs always have 10% mitigation, so the 80 Armour always = the same bonus damage increase. The Axe dot is terrible though.

At most the Mace Armour pen should be increased to 260, so it is a 5%~ damage increase in pve, however it is relatively useless in pvp.

the bleed overwrites itself with every swing. it doesnt stack withthe bleed from the cleave line.

sword with precise is clearly the winner in every situation.

Mace does not need to scale as mobs always have 10% mitigation,

Are you sure of this? All mobs and bosses have always the same mitigation?
Would it mean that if I take a weapon with 10% armor/spell pen trait, it would only upgrade the DPS by 1% ?
Do you know what is the amount of armor the mobs/bosses have? (looking at your message I would gess ~520? (260*2))

personally just remove the others and make the +% damage apply to all 2hand weapons.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

Well i have tested all 3 2h weapon and the conclusion is the sword simply wins ! Because the axe bleeding do not stack, and as the bleeding damage is weak, it's useless. A stack of bleeding fx should be the solution, maybe with a limited number of stacks.

Mace is useful in low lvl but 80 armor reduction is a joke in hl. A 10% of armor reduction seems legit, or a better change imo is to remove the armor reduction and give a fresh new buff like % chance to stun for some time.

I see absolutely zero reason to use anything but 2h sword. Needs to look at 2h passives and make some changes.

I get a flat +5% bonus from sword ALL the time (if not bugged in some way). Just today a higher level 2h Axe dropped so I tried it out. It did slightly more damage overall than the +5% damage but the dot is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! I attacked a group of 3 mobs and when the fight was over the dot did a total of 8 damage! OMG WOW!

It also had no elemental charge on it (had the % bonus to melee damage). I swapped back to my old 2h sword and attacked the same type of 3 group mob and the bonus alone from the elemental damage (improved from 2h passive) did several times more damage than the damage from axe dot. If the sword was the same level it wouldn't even be a choice. Mace offers NO bonus in pve anyway making that weapon completely pointless to use.

2h Axe and Mace either need a complete change or axe bleed massively buffed and mace have some sort of benefit in pve as well.
