So... You think you're a true warrior?
You have accomplished feats that many can only dream of accomplishing. You have done things that others cannot even begin to fathom. You have seen the face of death more than once, and have stood, triumphant, time and time again. Whatever your accomplishments, whatever you have seen or done, you can throw all of that out when you are here. Your outside credit means nothing, is nothing. You are nothing. Until you prove yourself in the Gauntlet, fighting against the greatest warriors from across the land, you will be seen as nothing more than a bag of meat, waiting to be beaten when you are here. Your opponents will not give you mercy. They will not hesitate to crush you. They will stop only when I give the word. You will do the same, or you will find face first in the dirt before long. So... What will you choose? The fight will be bloody, no matter the outcome. All that remains is a choice: Will you face bloody defeat, or will you rise to bloody glory? The choice is yours.

(Hey everyone! Rok here with another weekly event for you all! Welcome to The Gauntlet, the greatest fighting arena ever to arrive in Tamriel! Hosted by Rok himself, contestants will be pitted against eachother in a 1x1 brawl. These WILL be running through pure roleplay. In this case, we will be using a slightly toned down version of T1 roleplay combat. If you are unaware of what T1 is, or even what roleplay combat is at all, please visit this page.
This event will take place from 9pm EST every Friday. You will not be required to attend the entire event, as you will likely only be a part of one fight per week if things are crowded, perhaps a few more if the group is smaller. With this said, you are always welcome to stay and watch the other fights. If you choose not to, we will send you a tell when your fight is next in line. The event will end whenever the last fight of the night is resolved. It may also end later than this if people really want to keep going, or earlier if people feel like calling it early.
As for how matchups will work, there are a few ways of this happening. I will keep a statistic page for every character who has participated in a fight that will keep track of their wins, losses, and draws. Based on the participants that come each night, they will be matched against opponents with similar standings to them. This will be the default way of determining who your opponent will be. The secondary way of doing this is by request. If two fighters wish to fight eachother, they can surpass the "ranking" system. This will only be allowed if both fighters agree to it.
Last but not least, these standings will also bring you greater respect the higher you climb. Please note that this standing system has nothing to do with the guild. This reputation is purely for you presence in the Gauntlet. Furthermore, the fighter at the very top of the standings will be crowned the Gauntlet's "Champion" until another fighter can overthrow him/her. This can done by reaching second place in the standings, at which point you will be offered the chance to fight the Champion for the title. Should you fail, it will count only as another loss for you, and lock you out of any possibility of fighting the Champion until another fighter makes the attempt. In other words, you may not fight the Champion twice in a row if you fail the first time. It is also worth noting that you are not required to accept the match opportunity against the Champion, as the Champion title comes with some responsibility. To read more on what a Champion's role is exactly, read the next paragraph.
Being the Champion is a great honor, but it also comes with great responsibility. As Champion, you cannot refuse a fighter who has earned and agreed to the chance to fight you. You will not be matched against opponents in the default matchmaking method. The only way for you to acquire a fight without having somebody challenge you is by requesting a fight with another fighter, who must still agree to the fight as well. This will not be a fight for the title, but will count as a win or a loss for both the fighter and the Champion. Fighting aside, you will be highly respected in the Gauntlet. All fighters will know of your achievement, and should respect you as they would a noble.
I hope you all enjoy this fresh variation on our usual roleplay, and I hope even more so that you come check it out!
