This thread will probably not get noticed by anyone, and if it does it may very well get flamed because most people do not care about this subject but anyway. I just wanted to put this thread out there and hope people do see it and think to be slightly more courteous towards other players who may like to stay in character in game. This really isn't a big deal to me, but I have seen other players in my guild or in zone chat mention this, and it is a minor annoyance but nothing worth complaining about, but many non-RP players will use yell and say, the commonly understood RP channels (in most MMOs I have played anyway, I could be wrong), as a normal chat channel. This is fine, except when using these channels it is just good etiquette to mark what you say as being out of character. This could be by ((putting parentheses around it)) or tagging it as ((ooc)) or (ooc at the beginning or end, or something. As long as you make it apparent that you are speaking OOC. This seems to be happening more in public dungeons, which leads to something else...if you really do not want to search for, or have searched and cannot find the skyshard in the delve, the public dungeon has it's own Zone chat, ask in that channel. Again, this is not a thread berating anyone, or trying to tell people they have to RP, just a guide to one bit of etiquette when playing with roleplayers.
