Fighter's Guild - Silver Bolts Worth It?

I have the option to get the "Silver Bolts" skill, but I don't know how effective it really is. Has anyone taken this skill for a test drive. The skill knocks down undead and deadra (definitely sp) and stuns them and does damage.

I have it on my archer. Definitely good. Especially for fighters guild quest. Also it effects vampires as well from what I heard since they are undead. So would be useful against a vampire in pvp I assume.

Ah... looks like we've got some fresh blood over here...

They are quite useful in Cyrodiil... >:)

There is an option in the skill line to make fighters guild abilities good against weres too.

It was amazing in coldharbour. There were a lot of daedra with fire attacks and at the time I was a vampire. The knock down and damage really helped.

Take it. As a sorcerer with Crystal Shards and Silver Bolts, most Daedra and Undead basically lie on the ground and let me kill them. Even Doshia fell quickly to my mighty knockdowns from both stamina and magicka.

So much of the game is made of undead and Daedra, so I found it very helpful. I put both that and the Hunter skill from the Fighters Guild on my toolbar anytime I am going to do a Dolmen or an undead/daedra zone, dungeon, or boss.
The only substitute for victory is overkill.

Yep, I'll agree with the rest, totally worth it. When I am using a bow, I use it every dolmen, and any dungeons or quests that involve a lot of daedra or undead.

Very handy to have. They've turned the tide of some battles with the knockdown, giving me time to get that last bit o' damage in.

+1 for silver bolts; ZoS will probably end of nerfing because it actually works well.

Take it for the knockdown. Outside of the 5% proc, the damage is really pretty low. Having a decent knockdown if you aren't a stamina user it nice though. Stamina users might find it eats up too much of the bar though.

Definitely worth the skill point (though I haven't morphed it yet). Like elvigy01 says, some skill combos work great together like the sorcerer crystals + bolts.

If anything it's a great "oh s**t" button, when you pull a few too many undead/daedra and you just need that extra few seconds to kill the first one.
    Currently Playing:
Sorcerer Claudia Warren May, lvl 40. Woodworking 25/Clothing 25/Provisioning 50.
    Dragon Knight, lvl 8. Blacksmithing/Enchanting.
    Nightblade, lvl 3. Alchemy.
    Templar, lvl 7.

Knockdown on all daedra/undead (so 80% of PvE content), and the only reliable counter to vamps/wolves in PvP? Why don't you have it already man? lol

Silver bolts also chain really well with other skills for a quick triple or quadruple combo. Good for pve and pvp.

I used this for upgrade werewolf. But not only that, if you fired it twice it pulled the monster to you. This made the fight godly for the werewolf fight you had to pull on the fire to take dmg. Then just bind and repeat.

It works great in combo with so many other skills. IMO one of the few must have skills.

Better than the other morph, silver leash, I put that one on my DK, hoping to be able to pull some enemies towards me, doesn't do it, or at least not very often.

So go silver Bolts every time.

This always works. But you have to double tap t. First for the bullet, second to pull mob toward you. Works every time for me and is wonderful

I switch it in and out of my skills if I'm in an area where it works. I use it with my Destro staff. Knocks undead etc. down while my summons gank them and I stand back and keep knocking them down.

Honestly the Entire fighter Guild tree is very useful other than trap beast IMO. Dawn breaker is and amazing ultimate for its extremely cheap cost and Circle of protection morphed to turn undead will allow you to solo or duo some things you probably couldn't. Myself and my Sorc buddie have 2 mans some VR dolmens spamming it to keep mobs feared.

I have found silver arrows quite useful, and they level. I've often been stared at by other players in a wtf manner when I crit an undead and they turn into a fine powder.

Silver Bolts is my absolute most-used ability in all of my toons. I can't say enough about it. There's nothing like shooting at a Daedroth at a Dolmen and having the chance to send it back to Oblivion with one shot kick in. Not to mention the morph that allows you to shoot three enemies at once.

Even if you do not use it regularly, yes. Much of this game will revolve around having a decent toolset to swap from.

If you intend to fight skellingtons, daedra and undead, you NEED Silver Bolts. Simple as that. Makes the fights easy-mode.

Silver Bolts is a no brainer.

T'was funny recently in Cyrodiil, I watched a level 10 new to PvP kill a VR12 DK vamp with one shot, t'was bugged at the time, as you can't one shot a VR12 DK vamp usually, and nor should you be able too.

Still, it was funny as hell :D

Back on track, silver bots is very useful, plenty of undead at every turn, and in coldharbour it's simply THE tool to use.

for me I see this as a waste of early starting skill point, just not enough wares to justify that skill passive. once you like me has 12 unspent skill points, then I might spec in it, haven't done it yet though.
  • Hassgrinsen
If you're going to Cyrodill yes, just put 1 pt in it. It 1 shot kills vampires, as above said a lvl 10 can kill vr-12 lvl 50 tanks in 1-2 shots. So, if you see a vamp, just hide and slot it for an easy win. Some people might think it's lame, an "exploit" even, but this is ESO we're talking about, nobody thinks like that here.
