Soul Shriven
hello, first post!

so i have 5 toons, all hovering around level 10. and im enjoing my breton templar the most so far, so i think ill take that one the long hull first. i'd like to end up being a valuable asset to a pvp team eventually, as thats what ive done in all the other mmos ive played.

i'd like to see this toon end up a tank support healer. believe it or not...based after a thought i had after revisiting final fantasy X and remembering how cool it was to have Auron in the mix.

my thoughts, and questions:

was thinking heavy dedicated into restoring light? and two handed, and heavy armor... with a point distro of maybe 2-2-1...???

thoughts were to be a damage soaker with support heals from the resto line and a decent burst from critical charge and uppercut or something.

should i just go resto staff?
am i too light somewhere in my points distro thinking?
i cant imagine using anything but heavy armor for this role...am i off?
is there any way to toss potions to your teammates?

i dont want to level yet another archer syphon build...which was my first thought for a decent pvp toon, becasue ive heard the community is kind of heavy on those and way too light in the way of good healer.

thanks in advance.

have fun kill bad guys

I can really only advise you based off what little experience I have being a Templar (lvl 48). This is really only advice for PVE. I haven't done nearly enough PVP to advise you on that if that's the information you need.

As a Breton Templar myself, I invested in mostly Restoring Light first off. However, I played with a friend the whole time and doing solo quests with mainly Restoring Light (and a few Dawn's Wrath) skills can be very difficult.

I would suggest if you are going to be solo'ing to invest in Aedric Spear and Restoring Light. You can probably get away with leveling those skill lines equally and be okay with both soloing and grouping.

So far I've found a mix of heavy and light armor to be the best at keeping me alive. You might want to equip both heavy and light armor so you can level them both at the same time and choose what is right for you as you progress.

I would choose either Magicka or Stamina to invest the majority of your points in depending on whether you want to use more class skills(Magicka) or weapon skills(Stamina). I would say one or the other, not both. Put 1/4-1/2 of your points into health depending on how much you want to tank.

Although I use sword and shield, I have heard many Templars enjoy using a Two-Handed. For dedicated healing, the passives while using a Restoration Staff are very good to have when you have enough points invested into them. However, it's not necessary.

Also, just in case you haven't run across this information before: it's a pretty good rule to limit your skill point usage down to the minimum you need to level. Chances are you may run into a boss mob that you can't defeat unless you have a spare point or two to invest in a skill that will give you the edge you need against it.

    Hope this helped.
