COD Scam!

As of now, the COD fee is a HUGE problem with troll players... It wasn't a big deal when I was selling low priced stuff because I would only lose like 50 gold, but now I am selling expensive items and losing hundreds! In the most recent trade I lost over 1,000 gold...

All a player has to do to make another player lose a bunch of gold is tell them to COD the items and then cancel the order... the player that sends the items instantly loses any COD fee he/she paid. This is outrageous! It makes me not even want to attempt selling to other players anymore because I am afraid I will lose my COD fee...

Please either take out the COD fee or make it so we get the COD fee refunded to us if the other player declines the trade...

I will make a /feedback. I also reported the troll that did this to me because I know he did it on purpose...it's a shame how trolls get a kick out of this kind of stuff...

That's why I don't trade by mail. I hope it gets fixed. I understand that it is a gold sink, but if it is being used for this kind of stuff then it should be changed.

This game has just taken the term money sink too far. I've never played a game where item durability is as low as it is.

The trading system is supposed to get more people to trade but I have to lower prices because once I stack the CoD addition on top of the price some people back out. You can't have a free flowing economy when you're being punished for selling in the guild stores and CoD. Especially when sending mail without CoD is cheap as hell. It needs to be more like the price of sending regular mail in game.

If only we had some kind of secure way to sell to strangers. Like say a place where i could list stuff for sale and people that need stuff could buy it with no hassle.

A lot of things they do used to be done when MMO's first started. There's a reason why they aren't done that way anymore. This game is nostalgic more so then anything else for me. But little replay value to me.

I'm not discounting the issue because it certainly does need to be addressed, but in the meantime, the solution is simple. If you don't know or trust the buyer meet them in person & do a trade. It's not that hard.

I think the fees are way too much for COD and also for the guild store.

I now refuse to do either and I will trade in person or I won't trade with someone. Requires a little more running around, but I save on the tax.

heh, no kidding. I honestly don't understand the point of all this. They should have just put in an auction house from day one and avoided all this crap.

Hehe, I also hate how it defaults to send gold instead of COD it. I can't tell you how many times I've SENT people gold instead of RECIEVING it. Maybe have neither option set as default?

Thats why I only sell stuff face to face. Cod fees are outrageous to begin with and stuff like this makes it even worse.

Going to throw this out their not to troll but to say maybe the person was so tired of seeing WTS spam in the zone chat. That they just told all the spammers to cod the items to them?

I'll just add this to the scam list. I was in a process of selling some gear. 600g cod send and all that. The guy send me a cod with the same amount. I was about to accept that just coz I saw the money but then I noticed a lockpick attached to it. So this guy was going to trick me into thinking that he paid for it and that I was going to get my 600g. I rejected and he still hasn't refunded my items.

What I do is make them aware they will pay the CoD but even that is broke. Let's say I sell something for 1000 and cod is 200. I add the cost of 1200 into the box and now the CoD charge rises to 250 so I always end up worse off. Best way would be to charge the receiver the CoD charge and us a postage charge or for us to just factor in the CoD charg to our sales. Anyway we do it though, we lose out!

I'm not sayin its not a glaring bug that needs to be fixed but I heard about this day one and never traded COD. OP, if you keep loosing gold you should stop COD

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ Thank you for your response. I hope something is done about this soon. It would be nice to get my 1,000 gold back too. My account name that this happened to is @Emporer‌ (My account name and forums name are spelled differently somehow). I understand if I can't get my gold back, but please fix this issue ASAP so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

I will not be using COD until this issue is resolved which makes trading even more difficult.

So wait the COD fee is charged to the sender? I thought it was charged to the seller...like the way it works in real life. Either way the COD fees should be refunded to whoever pays them in the event that it is cancelled.

Sounds more like a /bug report should be filled out than a /feedback form. If someone cancels a COD order, all items and gold should be returned.

A sad reality of life is that some people enjoy causing others pain, be it talking about a person needing to be gang *** in zone chat, like I saw two days ago, or doing things that intentionally cause people to loose money like the OP. That is why we have the Jeffrey Dahmers and the guys who think its a good idea to make home-made bombs and blow up the Boston Marathon. You have to choose how much exposure you have to the risk and if it is worth the reward. Both in-game instances SHOULD be reportable and bannable if I read the ToS agreement right.
BTW, I hope you are including the postage AND the CoD fee over the top of the charge for the item being sold when you price the item.

As a software developer, I learned a long time ago that trying to be cheeky and innovative without cause when designing a new system will, more often than not, blow up in your face.

Guild stores are cheeky.

Just make an auction house already.
