New Sorcerer

So at the start I wanted to try something different. I made a Sorcerer but made it tanky. Most of my points are in stam to block and im wearing heavy armor. Needless to say im squishy and die often. Im scrapping all of that and want to know what a Good high damage out put Sorcerer looks like. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me some tips? I feel like my skill lines are out of whack and im wasting time using a 1h and shield.

This is what I plan on going with eventually with my DPS Sorc....

I can also put together a 2h look for you as well, and as far as the destro staff, I actually have not fooled with it much, but from what I gather you basically slot magelight and spam impulse. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

P.S. World's worst run on sentence there. >.<

I've had a lot of success with a Dunmer Sorcerer using 2 swords & heavy armor, I basically invested heavily into Daedric summoning & Dual Wield. Running around with 2 pets, 2 swords & heavy armor, throwing out the Daerdric DOT, & smacking the crap out of everything I meet while wearing a Lightning Shield has worked quite well. Not squishy at all, my Ultimate for bosses is the Lightning Atronach, and most recently I levelled Resto staff a bit for a quick heal (swap into second skill line) in case of emergency (which is rare). Often while questing I see many other characters hanging back & not attacking multiple mods dude to being unable to handle adds. Twilight pet will usually pull one add off & my initial attack kills the first mob within 2 maybe 3 hits. I also can pull power from both pools (stamina & magicka) and never full drain either.

I'm currently building my tank sorc and i love it.

At low level I recommend running around and collecting some shards because you can be very weak in the beginning.

IMO must haves at lower levels:
summon unstable clanfear pet - helps off-tank for you
mage's wrath is good dps and sets up for instant crystal fragments
you might want to use deadric curse instead as this will level your summon line faster and has an AOE effect
ransack and fortress from the 1h+shield line
    sword and board
resolve and constitution from heavy armor line
the lord mundus stone for more HP - http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Mundus+Stones

once you get bound armor and lightning form and some green armor, you'll likely be hitting the soft cap (overcharged) on your armor and really be able to start taking a beating.

I'm 24 now and running something close to this

ps if you post your current build, race, level...
pps I switched from 2h sorc with lots of lightning to this tank build recently and was having a hard time. you have to think and fight differently. more waiting and blocking/bashing, using heavy attacks at the right time. you can't stand toe-to-toe and mash buttons

    tldr; fight slower

Mind posting a link to the build? :3

Specialize in medium armor for offence if you want to go melee and use the lightning buff in close combat which will softcap your resistance and armor for survivability.
