Tomatoes?

Just curious if anyone has found any? I've got 4 days in-game looting about every basket, crate, barrel I can find, I've yet to see one. I found an epic recipe (Consummate Brenton stew) that requires tomatoes among other ingredients to make.

Are they not in the game? Or are they of another alliance? I'm Daggerfall Covenant.

Yes, but they're rare. I think I found mine in Alik'r.

Tomatoes and Oats are both *extremely* rare. The best way to find them so far is with a lucky mail from your hireling.

Onions are OK, I have a reasonable stack, but no tomatoes.

I have 120 onions, zero tomatoes. I'm starting to think they're mixed up with stale radishes in the loot tables.

I get the most tomatoes by far from my hireling 3/3 skill. Pepper is the other annoying one.

I'm at 40+ pepper, no tomatoes. I only have one skill point in the hireling because of the extreme disappointment of receiving one ingredient per day.

Compared to other stuff you need to craft purple recipes (like garlic, potatoes, paprika, etc.) there difinitely is a lack of tomatoes and oats in this game. ZOS better revise their loot/hireling tables.

I got two from my hireling - once. I have never got any from endless looting of every barrel, crate and urn I can find.

Thanks for the tips. So the only way to get them is with hirelings? Hmm. I hope they add other ways, I don't like being restricted by an arbitrary timer waiting on materials.

Seems like it. Guess the points I put in the hireling aren't a complete waste then. ^^
