Z-Max states they are doing something and working on doing something about Harvesting Bots.
If they do ( I assume they do), it is not very effective.
This morning two Bots in full flight (teleporting) cleared out the area I was in.
Since I love my Char doing various Crafts this of course angers me greatly.

I do not mind at all sharing resources with legit players who run for it like I do. That is a part of the game. However...the Cheaters do not belong in a game like this.

Z-Max, as Developers do something about it! The game is already ridiculed all over the Internet gaming-community because of its Bugs. Add the Gold-merchants and Bots to the picture and it is adding insult to injury.

Quite honestly...just from reading the Reviews of the game (luckily I have personal experience with the game) I would not buy and subscribe.

Slowly (hating the thought) I conclude that those who predict the game going f2p within the year are actually right. Again...I wish it would not happen. However, Z-Max at the present rate of development you will loose a lot of customers.

A recent survey (albeit an unofficial one) showed that a whooping 30% of current players will not subscribe at the end of the 30 days. It takes just another 20% and half of the present player base is gone...this of course will force the game into f2p mode.

What a waste of a good opportunity, because ESO really is a good game despite its many bugs. Z-Max developers...please wake up! If you don't you will be going SWTOR within the year.

But maybe Angry Joe and others are right...maybe that was planned right from the start (I hope it is not so).

This is good news. You know why? 30% of playerbase loss after the first free months is perfectly in line with every other MMO (ffxiv for example).
Some MMOs managed to lose more than half the playerbase after the first month and still "lived" for years.

    So much negative thinking.

The survey does not represent the entire customer base. I would not worry about the survey.

The number one thing I recommend for improving your ESO experience is to simply avoid the forums and play the game.

If you spend time on the forums, and you are not prepared to mentally counter all of the negative energy that comes with the forums, you will buckle under the onslaught. Negative energy feeds on itself and all it wants is for more people fall under the influence of it. It wants you to be despondent, to feel that all is lost, to feel that everything is a failure waiting to happen. It wants you to give up.

Ignore the "bots" in the game. Just do what you are there to do, get it done, and move on. Don't report them, don't interact with them, don't watch them. They are not as important as you think they are. Even if half the population does not report them, Zenimax will still be addressing the issue.

I play every single day. I actually see very few "bots" (real, imagined, falsely accused, or otherwise) in the game during my normal game play. I usually have to go looking for them when I want to find them. Those that I do find are inconveniences that do not last long because I just move on. In no cases have I needed to be there for more than a couple minutes. I get my boss kill and loot and leave. If they are camped on a resource, I just move to another resource. I don't worry about the cheating, the economy, the unfairness of it all because I simply choose to take the more positive approach.

But, the first step is to stop visiting the forums. Once you are free of people telling you how bad the game is and how this or that will utterly destroy the game, you will come to realize that things are not as bad as the negative energy in here wants you to believe.

Players leaving will help the latency issues.

Game servers are incredibly unstable. They can't handle the current load.

As far as cheaters go. Can't help being paranoid playing this game. Never experienced anything like it. Bots stealing resources right before your eyes. Things disappearing. Shady characters coming and going.

Always wondered, why the hell don't I have any potency runes?

    Bots.

    I don't play p2w games. Period.

While ESO is not officially p2w, the gold sellers are quickly taking it there, selling high end crafting items, power leveling, crafting profession leveling, and of course gold.

I too have begun seeing bots in the areas where I gather.

Knowing how much time I dedicate to gathering, trying to play the game and get ahead legitimately through hard work, it's becoming more than a little disheartening to watch what's going on.

Combine all this with a particularly rude player base and lack of a suitable marketplace and, well, I'm quite on the verge of pulling the plug, at least for the foreseeable future. Mind you, I'm not castigating ES, It's absolutely terrific in many respects, it's just not particularly conducive to my personal capabilities, limitations, and objectives.

An AOE report tool would come in handy sometimes lol.

Z-Max has made attempts to get rid of bots and gold spammers, give them a chance, they can't be expected to do something in a month that Blizzard hasn't been able to do in 9 years.

The bots haven't caused any serious issues with my gameplay. Sure it annoys me when I see a group of players named things like "YYYSYEURYS" insta-killing mobs in a cave, but whatever. I like ESO too much to let bots bother me.

I hope ESO does not go FTP, if it did, you can count on there being even more bots and cheaters in the game.
