Anchors and Loot

I try to attack an anchor if I see it active, but I have a less than 50% chance of being able to loot the mobs/boss even though I am there from the beginning until the end. I attack everything I can, and heal people.

The last one I fought at in Deshaan, i was there when we started until the end. My friend showed up part way through and was able to loot, I was not though. This is the 4th or 5th anchor in a row, directly after that I helped kill a rare at the skull and crossbones on the map and wasn't able to loot it either.

Is there some trick to being able to loot the mobs from things like these? It's pretty frustrating and not much since in bothering with them at this point.

    Make that the sixth time, just did another from start to finish, couldn't loot a damn thing.

    Yeah I know the feeling. I've done some seven-eight anchors, and I've only seen any kind of loot ONCE, and it was ONE item. I get more loot from killing any random dungeon inhabitant than from clearing an entire anchor. It feels a bit... Bad.

    So glad I'm not the only one, I've done 4 anchors now and I either walk away with nothing or a tiny amount of gold. I have to wonder in my case if it's the amount of people at the anchor hitting the mobs. But no matter what the percentage I hit them I get next to nothing from anything at the anchors. I tend to only bother with them now if I happen to be near one that has activated recently.

    I've had the same issues. Once I've done one for the achievement, I don't bother doing them again. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be or if they're supposed to be worthwhile?

    There is usually a boss in the last wave and if there is loot it will be dropped by that boss.

    Everything about the anchors is dissapointing and annoying.
    1. They aren't even remotely close to being as epic as they were in the trailers. Remember when the chains ripped through bridges and buildings?
    2. The fact that they are static, makes zero sense in terms of an invasion strategy.
    3. They are nothing but a really half assed and blatant rip off of Rift, you know, minus the interesting designs, variety, the changes to the terrain, and the actual invasions. It's like they shrank a Rift, and reskinned it. then left out everything else about Rifts that made them unique.
    4. The fact that its a ring with an obstruction in the middle is nothing but frustrating, missing mobs by a split second, simply because you ran right instead of left.
    5. The rewards are awful.
    6. The entire experience is anti-climactic, and uninspired. Beat a few telegraphed waves of baddies, then that's it. It becomes a phoned in, afterthought.

    I've never had loot from one and it's definitely not that I'm not hitting damage requirements for loot off the boss.

    I had the same exact issue, did about 5 from start to finish without ever getting any loot at all. Then i realised that i had out levelled each one by 6 or more levels. Which i believe is the reason behind it. It's so easy to out level content and quests in this game you are actually punished hard for it. I am not a grinder, i do not kill the same mobs over and over, i do not camp bosses, yet found my self ending up with tons of quests and dungeons in the grey. Thus no dropped loot for me. Very sad to complete a public dungeon and not get a single 1 gold coin from dropped mobs.

    This pretty much sums it up. The mobs should be more difficult to kill as well. If there's 5 -10 players at an anchor the mobs pretty much die instantly. The rifts in Rift were much more exciting, probably the best part of the game.

    Ya they issue is they only scale up to 4 pp, yet usually 5-15+ show up.

    Blame the popularity of the game heh. When the initial rush dies down, that won't be an issue I don't think.

    No, some Fighters Guild rep. Undaunted is only the group dungeons AFAIK.
