Alliance Emperorship

I hope this doesn't discourage anybody, but the ability to make any race in any alliance generates a problem: the leaders of each alliance wouldn't want somebody who is a different race to be crowned as emperor. It would be a major lore-breaker.

Of course, a player would not be emperor for months on end, but what do you think about this? Should outside races be restricted from emperorship in alliances?

Interesting point. I don't think my Altmer would be well liked as the Emperor of the Ebonheart Pact.

Tbh I highly doubt most pvpers would care, most aren't RPing while pvping. Not that any things wrong with it I just doubt it'll ever be a real issue.

Just look at the names of most pvpers. A good chunk of those in pvp wouldn't even know the lore. You think someone named xXC0D360n0sc0peXx could even tell a altmer from a nord?

Seriously, lore is the least meaningful eement in PvP.
We literally have hundreds of emperors being crowned in the span of days. Is that lore-friendly?

PvPers such as myself skipped all the rp and reading while levelling just so we could enjoy our pvp. If the Altmer has pledged to the Pact and doesn't mind killing his family then he can be the Emperor.

To be fair, I think a Khajiit or Bosmer emperor would still have issues even in AD. You could explain it as a truly epic warrior and leader being able to command respect and rising to the top regardless of race. Afterall, did you have a non-Nord fighting for the Stormcloaks in Skyrim, maybe even an Altmer?

(Besides which wouldn't the queen be the one to become empress? Why is her top champion the one to crown themselves? Best not to think too much about it I think.)

It's kind of sad to hear that PVPers are skipping lore in an Elder Scrolls game. PVP is great in this game. Lore enhances it IMO. Dunno why anyone would skip the immersive stuff.

Lore can always be done later, right now i would rather enjoy the gameplay. If I happen to get bored of the gameplay I can/will roll an alt and go through the lore at an easier pace, but pvp early in mmos is usually the best you are going to have.

As much as I agree its a lore-breaker I dont see the fairness in saying "i know your the top of the leaderboard in the Almeric dominion. But the high queen dont want a nord as the leader. Can you see this rank 20 bosmer that has been surporting you? yea.. shes empress now" Its a lorebreaker. A neccesary evil here. The lore exist to serve the game. not the other way around.

Emperor can be everyone who is able to relight the dragonfires, that means every dragonbourn, most likely every char we created, because Akatosh/Auri-el sends more dragonbourns in difficult times.
For the sake of a safe tamriel, the leaders of the alliancec would accept everyone who is a dragonbourne, especcialy if you are done with your main quest, they simply see you as a friend, a person they trust, as far as my experience goes...
Don't see it as a lorebreaker...
Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.

It is a lorebreaker. Our Charrecters are not of the Dragonblood. And the current emperors that are crowned cannot rekindle the dragonfires. they remain unlit to the rise of Tiper Septim.
