More than 6 levels higher than quest

I know that when we become 6 levels or higher than a quest's level that we don't get any XP or loot, but does that also apply to major dungeons like Spindleclutch? I'm level 18 and have yet to complete Spindleclutch. I tried it when I was level 12, but just wasn't ready. I want to try to finish it, but it would be nice to have at least some loot/xp for putting up with the Whisper!
